How can I tell them apart by looking at them? ataac_flat04 10-10-2003, 10:16 AM Size. the "E" series cover will be bigger over all. Inlet and outlets will be larger as well. The backing plates are of different diameters. I don't have exact measurements right at hand, but from memory the "E" compressor cover is about 1.5-2" larger in diameter than the "B" series.
