It is probably NewTech brake systems. The rotor is totally encapsulated by a full 360 degree caliper system.
If you watch any Motorola Cup events, there is a porsche turbo that belongs to the NewTech company and will be running the new braking system in the later races.
The Porsche does good without the new braking system as is so I would like to see how much better they can do with the new braking system.
NewTech is also a sponsor for the Motorola Cup.

I'm not sure what you fellows are refering to, but on the last Motorola Cup race i saw a Porche 911T running a set of NewTech brakes. These brakes have a special disc or rotor that accepts a brake hub that is essentially one big pad, with cutouts here and there for heat dissapation(sp?). At first glance i thought the brake design was ingenious. I also thought that heat would be a huge factor but i guess i was wrong. The NewTech sponsored 911T set the pole, but was disqualified for something which i dont remember why. He had to start at the back of the pack. And within 3 laps to finish, he had passed a record 49 cars! Apparently this NewTech brake design works pretty good then. I watched the whole race. This 911T outbraked every car in the race and made mincemeat of just about every Viper and C5. Truly amazing.

RotrPwr,
If you look at that race again, the commentators said that the 911t didn't have the newtech brakes on it yet but it will have them on at later races.
So you basically saw the good ol porsche brakes doing their duty.
