Edit 01/14/04 Here's the before/after dyno plot. Before=stock exhaust, after=MadDad 3CE and ScoobySport axleback. Stock uppipe, downpipe and intermediate pipe(center/rear). Product has been shipping to many happy customers for the past month. Generous discounts when purchasing with a catback exhaust or downpipe at the same time. Works great with Stromings 3" twin dump DP, combos for $349.

GAINS: 15HP & 12lb Torque (and that was 2nd gear :eek:)

=============================================

Daddy's is introducing our own line of exhaust components. Not wanting to be just another "me to" line of products, we're putting something special into every piece. Here's the first product we'll be offering. A 3rd cat eliminator pipe with a true "stealth" appearance. What you see here is the prototype we had developed and we're very proud of it. This pipe has a 3" ID at the downpipe end, but uses a special flange and gasket to allow bolting to the factory or any other DP that would normal mate to the factory cat(e.g. Bosal). A smooth taper to 2.5" at the catback end allows any bolt-on catback to be used with this pipe. OEM style heat shield helps keep exhaust gases hot to keep things moving and offers a super stealth look. We'll post more pictures later but here's a teaser to get things started. Pricing will be $199. Just around the corner(30-60 days) you'll see a ceramic coated uppipe, a very unique downpipe with several firsts, an axle back exhaust using exhaust packing material from the same company that supplies Ferrari and Porsche and a midpipe to complete a full Daddy's turboback. All components will be 3" and will mate with the factory flanges for flexible fitment and buy as you want(afford) assembly. We think your going to like the features, fitment, quality and cost of all of them.

Rich,

Nice design...If I knew that you were going to sell this, I should have waited instead of buying the ScoobySport 3rd cat elimenator.

I am happy with my setup right now (ScoobySport downpipe, stock uppipe, ScoobySport 3rd cat elimenator, Scorpion Exhaust) just waiting for Stage 2 ECU upgrade. If you sell a straight pipe for the resonator part, let me know.

Bump for a good vendor.:disco:

Hi gang,

I'm happy to see that this looks like what the community has been looking for. We should have production units in approx 3 weeks, maybe a bit before. I will have a part number up on the website shortly and we're going to let the first 6 go $159, and $199.95 thereafter.

G-force - It's in the same spot as the Prodrive pictured, but you can't see it in the photo due to the heatsheild and the angle of the photo.

Please add me to the list. Will it bolt up to a 3inch catback?? Fitment is for STI.

Pre-Orders are now being taken over the website. Product is in the Exhaust category. You will not be charged until the product ships. The website securely gather your order data but it does not process your transaction in real-time. I'll be watching for the first 6 orders and then changing the price to $199.95. If an extra order or two sneaks in before I cut the price back over to $199.95, I will honor them. Prices do not include freight, but this is a low cost item to ship. In the neighborhood for $6-$15

jRS2.5 - John, it shouldn't have any problem with the STi since 99% of current WRX parts from the turbo back fit the STi just fine. This should be no different but we have never tried fitting this prototype to the STi. It will work with any 3" catback that would normally bolt to the factory 3rd cat. It's intended to use the factory donut gasket just like the ScoobySport and Prodrive pipes. If you purchase one and it doesn't fit, we'll refund you.

Looks awesome!
Just bought my Scooby muffler from Rich. Gotta say, he was very prompt in getting my order ready and the exhaust shipped. Much more responsive than Rallysport IMO.

All pre-orders for $159 are closed. We should have production units in the next 2 weeks. If your interested in getting one as soon as possible I would still recommend placing an online order to reserve your order. As with everything we sell, you won't be charged until the product actually ships to you.

:eek: WOW! thats nice

so should your whole turbo back be out in 30-60 days or are different peices coming out slowly? i am very interested in this exhaust. :banana: do you know how much your turboback will run? thanks

goingfor400HP - thanks for the bump buddy.

HonduHunter - We're going to due the catback exhaust components next. We've pretty much spec'd it out but some minor details may change before production units are made. We're still a couple of weeks away from receiving our prototype axleback. The major feature of the axle back is that it is 3" but it is capable of mounting to the factory 2.5" piping. It will be the only 3" axleback on the market that will be a bolt-on to the factory piping. The catback pipe will also be 3" but again, it will bolt to the factory 3rd cat and to the factory axleback. You won't see production versions of these for about 60 days because we're still a couple of weeks away from testing. We need to make sure that neither piece resonates when used individually or together. If they do then it will take more time. If they don't resonate and if they don't loose any low-end torque(as some 3" systems do) then we will be a go and will hopefully have them ready for January to celebrate the new year. Preliminary pricing for a catback will be somewhere between $550 and $650. Not the cheapest but clearly not as much as some other recent introductions. We also plan to make sure that we can clear the factory Diff protector with our axleback, and of course it will be 100% stainless steel.

Here's a picture of our 3rd cat elimintor pipe installed. I'm happy to say it is a perfect fit which means we shouldn't see any delays in getting the production units.

I was just wondering why you tapered it to a 2.5" flange instead of keeping it 3". I know a few people like myself want a true 3" turboback but are having trouble because most DPs are tapering to 2.5" but then most 3" catbacks are 3" all the way (at least the straight thru designs are).

So then it would go DP (3") > 3rd cat (2.5" outlet) > catback (3" straight thru).

It's primarily to make the pipe as flexible a fit as possible. By using the factory sized donut gasket and flange size the pipe fits all bolt-on catbacks regardless of their diameter while also fitting the stock pipe. I also think that running 3" until the end of the 3rd cat pipe is where your 3" diameter is put to best use since the heat and pressure is higher the closer you get to the turbo, but when you go further downstream the temperature drops and so does pressure so the need for 3" of diameter isn't as great. This is just our opinion on the subject. We're not looking to open up the can of 3" vs. 2.5".

^^ Yea I know that whole war over in FFI 2.0. A mess that I don't wanna deal with. Thanks for your input, I was just wondering. I mean most turbobacks aren't true 3" anyway and they work so I don't see why this would be any different. Stromung DP is on the way.. now to scrounge up money for this work of art! Thanks for the info.

Just a note, APS has published numbers on 3" and 3"->2.5" systems. With a cat, there is no backpressure difference in the exhaust tract ranging from 225hp to 525hp. Without the cat, there is a .5psi difference at 325hp, 1.5 at 425hp, and 2 at 525hp with the 3" system offering less backpressure.

Basically, it doesn't matter because Rich's system has a cat and you aren't pushing 525hp ;)

Cant wait for warmer weather and $ to scoop this up.

To cdvma;
I'm a newbee...........I have an '03 WRX with catless downpipe and a ScoobySport exhaust running a Cobb AccessECU Stage 1.

Are you saying that a 3rd cat eliminator pipe will have no real gain because there no real backpressure caused by the standard cat at the levels I'm running?

Thanks,
JIM

will this fit a 98 RS? I have borla headers and stock exhaust, will it work? also in about a month i'll be putting in a turbo kit.. will i be able to still use it?
thanks

Daddy's SCP

USMARINE24M - This won't fit the RS.

jdowpe - The 2nd cat(the one in the DP) is more restrictive than the 3rd cat, but for sure the 3cat still takes power. Depending on your state of tune you'll gain approx. 7hp. We've had several customers email us after installing our 3CE letting us know they could feel and hear the difference. The biggest gain is had at approx 5K and it's enought to register on the butt dyno(which requires at least 5-6hp in my opinion). Lastly, we offer a 14 day no questions guarantee on all the MadDad(TM) exhaust prodcuts. So bolt it on and see for yourself.
