Hi all, I'm going to get everyone's opinion on the Thule racks vs. the Yakima racks. I need something to transport snowboards and skis as well as a mt. bike or two in the summer. Here is what I think I know so far, correct me if I'm wrong.

They are both about the same price when it's all said and done(350 to 400 dollars.)

Yakima is a local company in Oregon. It doesn't have as many fit kits as Thule, hence they have more generic fits for the car. This means that whatever I buy might not fit the car as well as a Thule. However, the equipment to lock the snowboards, bikes, etc in is much easier to get in and out of.

Thule will fit the car much better, but will be more difficult to use. It is world reknown and might be more sleek and have better durability.

Thanks all!

I have no problems with my thule rack system. I strongly suggest purchasing the fairing to reduce wind noise.

Thanks for everyones feedback. I ordered up a Yakima set from www.rackwarehouse.com this weekend. They have a 20% off sale on Thule and Yakima through the end of November. I decided on Yakima because it sounds like it will be easier to get things on and off the roundbars. Plus they are a good local Western company. If anyone wants to know how the rest goes drop me a PM.
