hey all. so i bought a 99 rs guage cluster (US). for my 98 impreza L wagon, hoping to get the white face guages, plus i like mph instead of km/h. i researched it, (so i thought) and it should have been an easy swap. but upon recieving the cluster, i noticed the plugs are different!!!
y question is, are the electronic fundamentals the same and i can hopefully get the right plugs and wire it myself, ? or am i S,O,L??
any suggestions?

It would be a pain to make it work.

They changed the wiring/plugs for 99 and up (both in Canada and the US). If you want any hope of making it work in your 98, you'll need to find a 98 Cluster (though they are still all black faced) or a cluster from a STi V4 (is white faced) will work with minimal modification.

There are aftermarket white "glue on" faces. You usually get the "indiglo" effect with it too.

Honestly, they don't look bad, just make sure they're pressed tight around the center or the needle will drag and won't work too well. :-)

Look on ebay if you can't find any locally.
