Hi I just wanted to see if anyone out there had the Blitz Turbo Timer, and what they think of it. I am considering one, but want to be able to use my alarm still. I have heard that with this one you can. Can anyone verify this?
Thanks

You don't really need a turbo timer. All the new EJ20x's cool down the turbo using the coolant. When the coolant evaporates inside the turbo, it gets refilled again. Also there is no precaution in the owners manual that instructs you to let the car idle to cool it down.

YOu have to cut a couple of wires on the keyless entry module and the alarm module to get the car to "arm" when the TT is counting down. It will kill your starter kill though.
Do a search for more jucy info.
And installing a TT will not do any harm to your WRX. (peace of mind at most).

When I helped my girlfriend move into her new apartment there was a lot of stops and I neglected to let it idle a bit. The result- I threw a CEL. Took it to the dealer and they suggested a cool down period, thus I got the Blitz TT in question.
I like it. I went with the silver so it would match the trim right below the vents. I think there are two wires you need to snip in order for the keyless entry to operate and the alram to be activated while the car is still running. I used the instructions on scoobymods but I didn't want to cut anything, so I didn't. Good unit, go for it. :disco:

Cylinder misfire in 1 and 3. I pulled the codes to find out then took it into the dealer. At first they said it was old programming w/ very sensitive parameters and they will have SOA reflash new parameters. So they kept the car there for a week then call me back and said they didn't send the ECU since it had the latest parameters. So they suggested a cool down period. That was the last time I took it to that dealer.
All in all though I don't think a TT is a bad idea. Necessary? No. Extra 'bling' in the cabin? Definitely.
