I searched, but didn't find any posts... I would like to hardwire my V1 to the overhead dome light.

Any insight into:

1. How to get into the dome light
2. Which wires to tap into
3. Any other helpful hints and pictures...

would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Mike

Sorry but you definitely didn't search hard enough. There are many, many threads about doing this in both this forum and the Car Audio forum.
FYI the dome light isn't really the place to tap into as it's full-time power. You want to take power for accessories such as a detector from a circuit that has switched accessory power.
You don't say what car you have but since you're a new member here I'll assume you have a WRX. If so you can tap the power from the harness for the optional auto-dimming mirror. The harness is there regardless of whether you actually have the mirror or not.

I finally found a good link:

Good tip on the dome light / autodimming mirror wires. Definitely want it to turn off when the car is off.

Yes, I have a WRX... I will update my profile.

Figured out what my search problem was mulder... I was limiting myself to the default 30 days. Searched "harder" and found a bunch of stuff.

I wired mine to my lighter's internals. The power cylinder thing that comes with the V1 is inside the dash on the far left [in my Legacy] and the power line runs up the A-pillar. I was surprised to find how easily the A-pillar cover pops off and back on. I have the remote display centered in the top of the gauges.
