You can see how much a difference the amount of light can make when you look at the Titanium Chrome wheels.

The way the group buy will work is, I need the people who want to get there name down on the list to call me at 715-834-5758. I need all your info, including billing info. You will be billed half once the order is placed with Rota. I will of course, let everyone who ordering know whats going on before they are billed. The only reason why you would be billed half is because I have to put half down on each set to get them made. It should take about 6 - 10 weeks to get them back from the factory. Once the arrive in the US and are shipped then the remaining amount will be billed. Below i have listed the price structure. All prices listed are shipped to the lower 48 states.

17" Actions $800 shipped
17" Attacks $700 shipped - IN STOCK!
17" Battles $700 shipped
18" Battles $750 shipped
17" Downshift $800 shipped
17" Formel $700 shipped
17" SDR $800 shipped - On Order!
16" Slipstream $650 shipped
17" Subzero $700 shipped - IN STOCK!
18" Subzero $750 shipped
17" Tarmac $700 shipped
17" Tarmac 2 $800 shipped - IN STOCK!
18" Tarmac 2 $850 shipped
17x7.5 Torque $800 shipped - On Order!
17x8 Torque $850 shipped - On Order!

Once the list is full, how long will it take to recieve the wheels?

Also, can you include wheels for different makes of cars, specifically a 16" wheel for a 2002 mazda miata?

One more question?:D

What is the difference between the tarmac and the tarmac 2? Other than price.:p

Thanks for the answers.

-It will take 6 to 8 weeks before they arrive.

-About the wheels for the Miata, thats not a problem.

-The difference between the Tarmacs and the Tarmac 2's is the Tarmac 2's will fit the STi's big brakes.

How do you guys think SDR's would look in this finish on a MBP sedan? I might do it if I can sell my current wheels.

Question for Revs -
Will you be doing wheel/tire packages with these like you usually do? Mine would be SDR's with Yoko ES100's in 225/45 17, or maybe 235's if they would fit on a 7.5" rim OK. Thanks a lot...

I'm sorry but we are not going to be offering package deals for the Ti wheels, or any wheels for that matter. Our wheel mounting machine took a turn for the worst :( And I'm having a pain getting it fixed. The 235 will fit on the 7.5 wheel but they might look a little, odd. I would just stay with the 225's, but thats me.

I don't have any pictures of the Attacks in the Ti-chrome. The finish isn't a true chrome. Its some sort of a "vacuum finish" is what I'm told. It doesn't weigh any more then the normal colors that the wheels are available in.

its not "just" a different color rim, its a custom color, special ordered, its not something that you can just buy at any place. people will look at these rims and go damn where did you get those, and you can feel confident you will never see anyone with them agin. they aren't made in the US either so you are paying for freight shipping overseas, as they are special order.

Amen to that. I STILL might get these because I do like the finish, but I can get SDR's for $595.00 shipped. $205 extra for this finish? Say all you want about special orders, overseas freight, blah blah...the only reason these are priced so high (compared to the other finishes) is because we begged for em.

Jasvboost

If you are not interested, no price is a good price.

All those with the comment fail to see the whole picture. These are rare wheels. If they made only 40 total SDR's or Tarmac II's or any other wheels, I'm willing to bet they won't sell for $595 or whatever the going price is. Ever since the original talk of these wheels came up a few months ago I have followed the original thread. Over 2500 views but only 2 people on the list. I am willing to bet many would want a set but for some strange reason they have not jumped on this. The comparision for regular Rota's to this is apples to oranges. If it's not for you, then why even question it. If it was already for you, you'd be on the list. Seriously if I had $8000 laying around I'd buy all 10 set's.

STiml8n
12-12-2003, 09:44 AM
JASV, i couldn't agree with you more. hell, if i get some things going here at work i might buy a set of SDR's as well as the tarmac II's since this is probably the only chance i will get to buy these. 200 for a rim isn't that much money if you are serious about your car. A plain rim will run you are 150, but everyone runs around on those. If your not willing to step up to the plate, you can't play ball.

If you think about it, it's just like having it powercoated a custom color. Powdercoating usually costs around 50 a tire, and this finish is much nicer than any powercoat.

If it was a little lower price, i'd jump.

The reason why they are more expensive is because its a inconvienence for the manufacturer to make them. They are not a standard color. Instead of painting 100, 500 of the same rim, bolt pattern, offset, size, they have to gather just the wheels that I order. I understand were your coming from, but I just want to explain were the extra cost is coming from. So far the only titanium chrome wheels in the country are 17" subzero's, 17" battles, and 17" Tarmacs. So you could be the only, or one of the few people in the country with a SDR, Downshift, Action, etc in titanium chrome! Most of my local customers that come in looking for wheels and see the titanium chrome subzero that we have on display get this look on their face. Kind of like... Just think about it and let us know if you are interested. Thanks.

The price isn't at all based on people begging for them. I chose now to get the group buy going because I thought that now there was finally enough demand for them that I wouldn't be getting some customers hopes up on getting them made. And the lack of demand would make it impossible to get them made. But I suppose what it comes down to is that people are going to believe what ever they want.

I wish Revs would update the list in their opening post. Might offer a little encouragement to those who are waiting for the list to fill up and also might convince some who are still sitting on the fence (namely me) to act before the list fills up.

I'm got one major concern which is stopping me from ordering. Let's say I do something really stupid in my car or hit a pot hole too hard and end up ruining one of my new Ti chrome Rotas. Would I be able to get a replacement? And if so would it cost a lot and take a long time to get because the rim would have to specially made by the Rota factory in the Philippines? Or would I have to wait until the next Ti chrome group buy put on by Rota which could be months to years to never again. This is a question that I need answered before I even think about ordering.

Please respond Revs!

They come with either the carbon fiber look center caps, crome center caps, or black and chrome center caps depending on the wheel. Since there's never been a titanium chrome SDR made before, I don't know what color that they center cap would be. Let me know if you want to order. Thanks!

Obviously, not these wheels, but Rotas in general.

OK, I will do package deals, but there will be an additional fee of $30. Because thats what it costs for me to get them mounted at one of the local tire centers. I would get my mounting machine fixed, But the company stoped makeing the mounting head. All they have left is medal heads, which arn't even the same design. With the old head I could mount 215-40-17 SO3's, and 215-35-19 Parada's. Now, with the medal head that they sent me its very hard to mount even a 205-55-16. But anyways, I will do package deals for those who want it. Let me know if I need to change anyone's orders. Please, just ask for tire prices. Just some fyi for you for an accurate quote on tires, just check out discounttiredirect.com or tirerack.com. There prices that they have advertised are going to be very very close to my prices. Let me know any one has any questions.

I can get in single peices. It will take 6-8 weeks however to get them in. For an extra fee, express shipping is available. But don't think that you you would be stick with three wheels for months on end. I'll take care of any customers that run into problems.

To get in on the group buy, you need to call in and give us your billing info, shipping address. Feel free to give us a call to add your name to the list. Our number is 715-834-5758. Shipping is not included with package deals. I do have chrome Gorilla spline drive locking lugs available. But they are not color matched. They are chrome, so it is pretty close.

Hey, I'm interested in getting in on this GB.

Does the coating used add any significant weight over the regular Rota's and has anyone determined how durable it is?

As far as I can tell the GB really ended around the end of January. I guess Revs took the 5 orders they had and ordered 5 sets of the Attacks, (reason why now there are 5 other sets for sale) and that was the minimum 10 needed. So not sure when you guys were interested but many of us have been waiting a long time. If you search you'll see that the interest for this began all the way back in September. I'm sure you'll find other nice wheels.
