...best for the $$$$ and where from? (in AB that is)

I have looked at Blizzaks and Michelin Arctic Pilots -- any other ideas?

These RE92s are horrible.

discuss, thanks.

lot's on that topic, I even asked myself do a searched. Toyo, Pirelli, blizzaks, Hankook, Nokian, Michelin. You can get them from Kal Tire, Costco, Tire warehouse. Just look on the manufacture website for dealers.

I did a huge search to....pick your brand and then go from there as not all places have all the brands. If you pick blizzaks...costco seems the place to go.

I swear by Nokian Hakkapellitas (Kal-Tire). Best traction in snow, ice, wet, and dry in independent tests, and similar treadlife to all seasons (~80k). Made a big difference on my ex-girlfriend's civic.

Nokian Hakkapeliitta's are bar noe the best winter tire you can buy. www.nokiantyres.com

If you can't find any out west I can get the number for the dealer in Quebec where I got mine from. Great guy to deal with.

I've had Hakka Q's before and they were great. They were pretty long wearing and excellent in the snow. I have Blizzaks right now, and they do have better ice traction then the Hakkas, but they wear noticeably faster.

Thanks for the feedback fellas, one last question for people living in cowtown:

Where is the best place to buy tires in Calgary?

cheers.

It depends on which brand you want. For Nokian Hakkas, you have to go to Kal-Tire. I go to the one on Edmonton Trail. The Hankook's, you can find them at Tirecraft or a few other places.

Hakks are great but $$$$. This winter I'm tyring out Kumho KW17's. 190/60/15's shipped from BC to Ottawa taxes in for only $380. Haven't REALLY used them as per say but so far so good. In the dry they are great, don't hum as you'd expect from snows and handle pretty decent actually.
