i am buying a complete 91 legacy turbo motor, everything comes with it. im just swapping the block in with my heads (apparently this is a really potent combo). i know ill need an exhaust and some form of engine control but what else would i need and anyone know about making it pass an emissions check? im in ohio and their e-check is changing for obd2, they are hooking up to the computer and reading the cars sensors instead of the sniffer test.

you are in the same boat as I am. I've got an '91 Ej22t going in to an '96 impreza and face that obdII bull****. I've talked to a bunch of people about it and some people say I'm screwed and others say that if you claim that your odbII is broken they will do the old sniffer test. I'm not sure which is true but for my sake and yours I'd hope that we can jsut get by with saying the odbII is broken.

what i think would make sense would be a stand alone would provide all the readings they are trying to pull out of the ecu right there on the laptop. why wouldnt that be enough?
