View Full Version : Strange questions (WRX, Premium Package)...
How fast do you guys start getting hot air from the heaters in your WRXen? I was thinking about this while I was waiting for my Jetta to warm up tonight, god.....
also, those with the premium package, how long do the seat heaters take to warm up? Also, are they just on/off, or do they have discrete settings?
Slowpoke 12-15-2003, 08:42 AM Depends on the outside temperature, but since the WRX has a blower the heater starts blowing hot air much faster than previous NA cars I have owned.
The seat heater takes only a few minutes to warm up. Since the seats are cloth, the seats warm up much faster than in the previous cars I have owned with seat warmers, which were all leather.
The seat warmer swith has 3 settings. Off, Low, and High.
Hope this helps
Shikamaru 12-16-2003, 01:42 PM Yes the WRX w/Premium Package will most definately keep you toasty on cold days.
I leave at 6AM for work and first thing I do when I get in my car is turn on the heated seat. Usually only takes 2-3 mins before it gets nice and warm. Then another few minutes for the vents to blow hot air.
craigmp50 12-24-2003, 12:29 PM About 2 miles driving, or 3 minutes total, whichever comes first. My WRX wagon has the best heater I've ever had in a car, and I'v had a LOT of cars, been driving 37 years. Buffalo winters are cold, but, my Subie's up to the task.

The heated side view mirrors also work quite nicely. The only thing is the rear window defrost seem to take for ever but I guess -30C does not help!! ;-)
plunk10 01-05-2004, 11:58 AM premium package wasn't available when I bought my scooby :furious:
gotta love the heat blower though :D
It would probably keep your coffee warm in the dash cupholder, though it'll bring your cold soda up to a boiling temperature if you leave it up there too long
wrpmission 01-05-2004, 05:59 PM The WRX definetly has no problem blasting the heat
Excellent. In my (dieburnyouPOS) Jetta, the soonest I'm actually getting hot air out of the heater is after a good 3-5 miles of driving  and the seat heaters take forever, too
dave_t 01-11-2004, 08:53 PM unfourtinatly our subaru didnt make it to the winter and now we're drivint the stupid bottom of the line sentra it sucks!!!!!! it usually only heats up when i get to where ever i'm going and lately when it's been super cold it really sucks (-18 degrees C when i came inside tonight!) and the subaru had heated leather too:(
Seeing you are comparing to a Jetta, I'd say you'll get heat much faster than the Jetta, if it's anything like the A4. The Audi seemed like it took forever to get heat out of the vents (at least the heated seats were quick). The WRX warms up fairly quickly in comparison.
