I have the CDA-9807 ... my question is if anyone has this system, did you have fitment problems??? I realize that the stock HU is 7'' , but the Alpine HU is like 7 1/4'' ... the side brackets wouldnt fit in correctly, what do I have to do??? Thanks,, James

No problem here with my 7894, fits perfectly. There are lots of others here with Alpines and I haven't seen any other fitment issues reported. The only thing that comes up sometimes is someone not being aware that the trim ring on the front of the unit has to be removed for the ISO-DIN installation, so it will fit through the opening in the console trim plate.

Yea ... i took off the piece from the unit to put the console back on ... its when i try and line up the holes correctly ... The left side wont fit in properly ... right side fine so i screwed them in ... Im just worried because I ordered the DIN pocket from a forester and I want to make sure everything fits ... Thanks for your responses.

I have the 9807 (great unit), it fits perfectly. Look closely at the instructions -- for Japanese cars, those side brackets need to be removed. Also you don't need to use that plastic frame that comes with the HU.

So then what brackets would I need to use???

No brackets, screws go from car "frame" straight into head unit.
