Charged Performance has been working feverishly for months on bringing water injection solutions specific to the WRX/STi and the upcoming Saabaru to this community through out the summer. After much R&D some of these products are starting to become available to the retail market.

Our first contributions were of an informative nature as can be found at www.turboice.net and www.turboice.net/forum

Now for our first product - an intercooler to throttle body hose with embedded bungs specifically for Aquamist's externally installed jets.

The suggested retail on this product will be $75.00, blanking plugs and Aquamist jets will be additional. The blanking plugs allow one or both bungs to be closed anytime water injection is not being used.

This group buy is for a minimum of 5 units and a maximum of 10 units. The group buy will include two blanking plugs and two Aquamist jets of the size you select (available from .4mm to 1.0mm) which is have an MSRP of $45.00.

The group buy price will be $75.00 and include one hose with bungs, 2 blanking plugs and 2 Aquamist jets, 4 feet of Aquamist nylon hose and a Y or T fitting as you select.

The group buy will end on January 16 and paid orders will be shipped once we reach 5 paid orders.

Deposits to be added to the group buy will be $25 and refundable only if we do not reach an order of 5. Once the group buy orders reach 5 deposits, the deposit will be nonrefundable and may only be applied to purchase of the group buy price through January 31 which is the last date that payments will be accepted on the group buy.

Based on our customer experiences that use systems other than Aquamist, the Aquamist hose and components can be adapted to other systems.

find out if this works with WRX tuners jets. I am very interested. If i bring down the jets can i try it out to see if it fits??

I am 99% confident that the jets they are using will not fit in the bung. Their jets are imperial thread and these bungs are M8 X 0.75.

If the size is close to 8mm we could see about the possibility of retapping them or I could make the bung with another thread configuration - but not one with a much different diameter unforunately. Do you have specs on their jet threads?

We can meet up sometime to take a look at it. Saturdays in Kenilworth work best for me since I know there is some consistency that I will be there. Other times it is hard to say where I will be far in advance.

PS - If I can make a modification to fit the imperial jets that will be great and I will do so. However if I can not si2wrx can give you information on adpating to the nylon hosing from the wrxtuner hosing.

does this work with the APS FMIC ? I too have the WRX Tuner's Water Injection kit, but haven't installed it yet. Could I just use aquamist jets with the WRXTuner setup ?

We would need to see the size of the hose from the end of the FMIC piping to the throttle body but most FMIC I have been close enough to compare indicat that it should fit.

I do not believe the Aquamist jets would connect directly to the hose used in your kit.

Based on my customer's experience in the thread linked above the Aquamist nylon hose (included in this GB) can be adapted to the kit you have with the appropriate couplings. Once you can utilize the Aquamist nylon hose, Aquamist jets can be used.

I do not have specific information on the conversion but I believe he listed some of what was involved in using the Aquamist hose above and I am sure with an inquiry in that thread he would expand on it.

I'm currently running a single jet with stock injectors / turbo, and

pressure surges a lot, and was wondering if you carry the

PGM, to match the flow potential of your injectors with the flow potential of the jets and your target ratio I would recommend two 0.5 mm jets. I am assuming that you are using a progressive flow system like the system 2c or 2d in order to meter the water at a progressive rate from low load to high load. Use of a static flow system with this much water could bog down the motor at the low end.

I can obtain for you either the 30cc accumlator listed or a 100cc accumulator that isn't listed both are up to 100psi accumulators.

Your target of 15% is over the flow capacity of the pump (300cc) at the potential of your injectors without an accumulator, besides decreasing the surge on your gauge (which can be reduced by a restrictor to the gauge) it will also bring the flow capacity up to your potential 15% X 550cc X 4 or 330cc. Of course with the 2d unless for some reason you are over 90% IDC on your injectors you will never need to flow more than 297cc to reach 15% and even with the 16g I would be surprised if you would need to be higher than 80% IDCs using the STi injectors. For further resolution in tuning the water you can either use the pressure switch or maybe have 1 0.5mm jet and you can have one of each of the 0.4mm, 0.5mm & 0.6mm jets for the second bung.

As a note to other readers, while an accumulator is recommended for margin if you have a need for 550cc injectors, most IDCs on a stage 4 equivalent using water injection will be sufficiently low to leave a huge margin from actual water to fuel usage with or without the accumulator. If even with water injection you need larger than 550cc injectors you are running a lot of torque and hp and would need to look at possibly multiple race pumps or utilizing an alternative hiqh quality, high pressure but higher flow pump to meet your flow needs such as certain shurflo models. I can be contacted for any specialized applications in addition to Aquamist's standard system offerings.

As a side note if you are absolutely sure you only want one bung, this can be arranged if known in advance, though we would recommend the second bung for future flexibility and you can use the blanking plug to block one bung and a single jet in the other bung.

Hi. 2x 5mm nozzle sounds good. I have the 2D system so I
already have 6, 7 and 8mm ones, which I can use to make fine
adjustments.

Regarding the pressure surge, I do have a restrictor in the
piping to my gauge. I might get the 30cc accumulator anyway.

Got room for one more? I don't know the nozzle size, but the WI system will be for a EJ2.2 boosted to 21PSI using 765cc injectors. Is 0.5mm to small?

Depends on what type of system you planning on using it with and what the IDC of those injectors will be when WI is engaged.

If using an Aquamist pump which will flow 300cc (more with an accumulator or prepressure from a windshield washer pump for instance) - on a progessive system like the 2c or 2d 0.5mm would be good since with lower IDCs they will stay under the 300cc. For a static system like the 1s 0.4mm would work better most likely.

If you are using a higher flow pump you could pair up 0.4-0.6mm but probably not any larger depending on how much water you want to flow.

Yes this group buy is open to up to 10 people. After the 16th orders will have to come fully paid. Before the 16th a $25 deposit can be made with until the 31st to pay the balance.

The engine is being planned, so no specific WI system yet. You can help me with this later this year. I saw your group buy and thought now is good as later to start with the water injection system. It is part of the overall plan.

PayPal is a jenks for me. Screws up consistently. During my attempt to make the deposit, for some reason my laptop rebooted. Something to do with the detestable PayPal surely. Anyway, please check and see if it worked.

Your advice on size of nozzles appreciated. This is for a weekend but street legal car designed to produce 400 at the crank hp with a flat torque curve. Details will be decided as the project progresses.

This may be earlier, the jets are on their way from Aquamist already. The only reason that they may not be going out earlier is that I decided I was not happy with the length of the standard Aquamist blanking plugs. They went through the length of the boss and actually into the air flow. I went back to Aquamist to have a special run of a thread length similar to the jets so that they do not impede the airway. This will not alter the price of the deal - I just wanted to put the best parts in your hands that I could. I fully expect to have the plugs by the 23rd, if for some reason they are not here I will be sending out the rest of the parts and the plugs will follow.

Balance payments will be accepted to up until the 31st. Until we reach the max limit of 10 I will accept new orders. With the exception of those who have contacted me and have payments in transit, for orders placed after this point full payment of $75 will be required with your order. For these later orders please allow two-three weeks for delivery in case I do not have the jets requested in stock when the order is paid.

Please include your phone number with your order or balance payment so that it may be included on the shipping label for the shipper.

Tracking numbers for the first five listed on the second post are being PM'd because my website and mail servers seem to be down at the moment.

Just a note on use of the bosses with the jets and blanking plugs.

Once the o-ring is seated, you only need to turn it another half-turn for it to be sealed. Do not turn it more than one turn. Excess torque will make the jets or blanking plugs harder to remove without causing the boss to spin. If you run into a situation where the jet or plug resists removal hold the boss in place with needle nose pliers.

The two who didn't receive tracking numbers - I need to know which parts one of you wants (jet sizes and splitter type) and the other will be sent as soon as the balance is paid.
