It runs 9s, all the street stuff on it. It will be at the L.A Auto Show with Gary Sheehan's UTCC winning Impreza, opening 1/2/04. Stop by and chat with them.

Personally..i don't think the ESX car sees the streets, although it has full interior and everything and is streetable. But i'd love to drive a 10-sec car on the streets...thas my dream :D

The only reason that they dont drive it on the street is because it is like a rare car.... That fast is not yet as "common" as it is in the DSM crowd. Maybe when we see some high 8's from them, maybe we may see more "street" 10 sec cars. But, you think of driving a car like that on the street. HAHA If you got stuck in say 4th gear on the highway at maybe 3k rpms and had to pass, haha you would NEVER pass. You would have to drive around with nitrous armed in case you get stuck in a high gear. But, when boost hits you might run into the car ahead of you. That would be a trip.

Here's Ali taking the ESX car in our caravan to a nearby bar at last September's shootout, and that's Rui "neutral-drop" Saposat in his minivan looking on:

And here's Phil and Nathan from TurboXS joining the procession behind Ali:

So, yes, these cars do see the streets - seen it with my own eyes. :) Lot's of fun had by all.

Oh, and I've even seen the ESX car race at the dragstrip *in the rain*. Quite a sight.

The ESX car just did a TV segment for Car and Driver Television where they were driving it around Willow Springs Raceway (I think) that should be fun to see eh ;)

I just had EasyStreet drop a bottom end in my car....here are my mods

2.2 liter short block w/ forged rods & pistons (EasyStreet ESX 500), ESX Up & Down Pipes, ESX/Injen Exhaust, Innovative Turbo, GT Spec Headers, Blitz FMIC, Blitz SBC-id & Powermeter-id, Blitz Turbo Timer, MRT/PWR Radiator, Injen Intake, Walbro Fuel Pump, HKS BOV, Samco Radiator Hoses, Samco Coolant Hoses, Perrin Pulley, HKS Circle Earth, HKS BOV, ESX/TRP Upgraded Synchro Transmission, ESX/TRP Clutch & Flywheel, NX Intercooler Spray, Blitz Radiator Cap, Blitz Oil Cap, Blitz Iridium Spark Plugs, STI Injectors, STI Engine & Tranny Mounts, Polished Intake Manifold, Blue Perrin Fuel Rail, Greddy Oil Catch Tank, NOS 50 Shot, Ecutek Tune, RSR Lowering Springs, CWest Body Kit, Zerosports Grill, STI Foglight Covers, Fastline Aluminum Floormats, Momo Race Shift Knob, Kartboy Short Shifter & Bushings, Indiglo Gauges, Cusco Front & Rear Strut Bars, Cusco Front & Rear Sway Bars, STI Shifter Trim

I am still breaking it in and they are going to tune it in the middle of January. They may even tune it at their BBQ for the opening of their new shop. They are speculating low 11's, depending on my driving of course. I am thinking of doing some weight reduction to try and get into the 10's. Anyone know the easiest places to take off (hack off, saw off, etc) weight? Besides the seats and spare tire.

Thanks,
Phatty

STI Injectors

you might see low 11s... but with STi injectors though? Your gonna be gambling... they would be MAXED OUT at those power levels.

come this summer if everything goes well, I will have a new turbo installed and at least 660cc injectors... probably more like 785cc's or 800's though.

according to Nathan @ Turbo XS I should see LOW 11s.

Depending how low (and assuming I dont crack off a 10.9 :)), I'll throw a 50 shot on and go for a 10! Hopefully... :):)

I think you'll start to see plenty of sti's solidly into the 11's this summer in street trim.

DougEFresh,

The injectors were also my biggest concern. Every place I get info from says something different. I had my car tuned at XS Engineering last year with basically a Turbo XS stage 4 w/ a VF34 plus GT Spec Headers, Perrin Pulley, and a Blitz FMIC and they dynoed it at 365 hp to the wheels on 104 octane, 22 psi & no cats and told me my STI injectors were hitting 99% duty cycle.
Yet the guys at EasyStreet insist that it is impossible to max out the STI injectors with any VF series turbo and my car only dynoed 205 hp to the wheels on EasyStreets dyno (High flow cat, 18psi and 91 octane). Then again they dyno stock WRX's at 135 hp while all others I have seen are above 165 hp.
They said my car would have ran better if I had taken the UTEC off and put the stock injectors and stock fuel pump back in.
I dont know squat and they are the fastest so I guess I'll listen to them. Most people selling the stage packages w/ the injectors, fuel pumps and computers are out to make a buck, but they arent, they just wanna make your car fast.
But the way I think about it is: If the STI needs bigger injectors than a WRX, then I should need bigger injectors than an STI.

It is just going to upset me when they are in the middle of tuning my car and they say "Looks like you need bigger injectors" and then they charge me to install them when it would have been a piece of cake to do when they were doing the fuel rails. And then I am going to have to sit there while they do that. Oh well.

EXACTLY :)

I know the guys at Turbo XS pretty well and I completely feel they have the same mentality of wanting to just make a car fast. Making a buck comes second... but with ANY and EVERY business... you gotta make money! :)

My friend Michael (mikaust) on a FP18G, dynoed 365-370 and was pushing mid to hi 80's IDCs.

Just about everywhere I know say that 85% IDC is the highest recommended SAFE operating limit. Granted, OEM Subaru injectors seem to be extremely well put together, ie- reliable, but still... if I were you, I'd just spend the extra bit to add the little security that you deserve!

Goodluck!
