I have just purchased an ATi Radeon 9200 8x AGP 128 MB for $99 after rebate. Just want to know if its good enough to use it for NFS: Underground or not.

Currently I have Nvidia TnT2 32 MB PCI but its really *****ty with NFS :(

If ya'll say its good then I'll keep it.. if not, then I'll refund it before opening it.

It should run perfect with NFS... :)

yeah the 9200 is a pretty decent budget video card, should work fine!

I just graped a new card too ,the ati atlantis se 128 ddr and finally a new MB asus a7v8x-x w 333 front side bus and a XP 2500+ with 512 ddr400. going to build this bad boy up tonight:devil:

ATI has been sitting on a good thing, the OEM market, for a very long time. They have a substantial abillity to produce top quality hardware with technology that clearly spanks NVidia as they are scrambling to keep up. It's almost like when NVidia came out of nowhere and spanked 3dfx..

I still have a Radeon 7500 and it's just fine. :o

Yeah first it was 2 chips on one card and then 4 on one card and then 2 cards with 4 chips.. What was next before they ultimately bought the biscuit?

No no.. it was Nvidia that swept the market while 3dfx was king..

See 3dfx started to focus on advertising and "This game runs best on 3dfx" style campaigns that cost a crapload of money. It seemed like the money came from development costs because rather than invent something new, the company just doubled up it existing technology to the point where it cost too much to make and wouldn't *fit* in most PCs!

Nvidia is now starting an expensive "Nvidia: The way it was meant to be played!" campaign that is giving me dejavu. Not surprisingly, they are also getting stale in the area of new tech, with huge coolers on old overclocked chipsets. Now we sit back and watch as ATI races by them with a slower clocked chip that outperforms the best Nvidia can serve up, and doesn't require the fan from your sister's hair dryer to keep it cool. So yeah .. my point is that ATI is the new Nvidia, and Nvidia is the old 3dfx.. and the old 3dfx was .. HAHAHAHA.. Funny!

When u have something so good (in a particular moment in time) its hard not to brag about it. ;)

3dfx had their time and share in the market. Always good to have a king to pave the way for the next big thing to come along, competition makes a better product.. hehe. I enjoyed my Voodoo II SLI before I had cut my budget for a gaming pc. lol

Point is why diss their big chips and cards. If it wasn't for them all the cards that came out after wouldn't be designed and engineered as good as they were.

9200 will play 'ok' but you will not be able to crank all the details up.
