Went up to Cypress today (Dec 27th) in the morning
:D The GOOD
-- the SNOW was GREAT! Dry, puffy, DEEP powder, (the kind that goes up to your knees if you aren't careful where you step, gives great quiet "swooshing noises" as you come down the mtn, and makes wipeouts seem painless.
Heard many "yeehah's and wahoo's from people coming down in the pillowy white stuff today.
 The BAD
"blustery" weather -- ie. constant blowing snow with crappy visibility -- make sure you have a good set of goggles and a jacket hood/helmet to keep your head from freezing in the blowing snow.
:furious: The UGLY
As you can seem from the pics below, I left Cypress Parking Lot around 13:30-ish but didn't get home (Bby) until 16:00! Cypress Bowl Rd turned into a wild circus of slipping and sliding SUV's, minivans, etc. etc. Many frustrated motorists (that DID have properly equipped vehicles with snow tires) were held up for a good two hours in the middle of the road as the police and Cypress Mountain staff tried to sort out the mess of people scrambling to come up/down.
I even saw one duo abandon their vehicle altogether and "street-luge" down on their snowboard.
Be careful out there - you never know what desparate motorists will do  - I saw a volvo try to work itself free (ie. slipping and sliding dangerously sideways EVEN as people were politely going around him) What a zoo! I think Cypress officially closed early at 16:00.. Too bad - I think I and many other motorists felt that those who "attempted" to get up Cypress with ill-equipped vehicles / and/or poor driving experience -- probably ruined it for others.
So my advice - if you want to carve some fresh powder at Cypress - head up nice and easy early in the morning BEFORE Cypress Bowl Rd clogs up with "idiots" :furious:. (I left Bby around 07:30 - i know it's early but worth it IMHO to avoid all the traffic jam and parking headaches)
Anyhow.. here's some pics (sorry- they're quite large..)
Here's what my car looked like after about 4 hours worth of boarding:

Blustery weather can clog even big muffler tips with snow!

See that thick powder accumulation my gf is helping me to clean off? now imagine what the snow was like on the mountain

After a good 2 hours of waiting in the middle of Cypress Bowl Road, back home at last!

Enjoy the snow everyone and be safe!
