I have an Omori EGT gauge, and it has been acting weird lately.
It usually stays "stuck" past 2200F, or at 400F and it won't budge, or shakes rapidly up and down. For some odd reason, it goes back to reading normal if I go over a hard bump.
Any ideas what it could be? It's been on the car for 8 months without a problem until the last couple months. Could it be the probe or the gauge? Or could the cold weather be causing this?
Thanks!

I vote for bad ground as well. When I had a problem with my Omori's when first installing them, it was the ground. IIRC, they have 2 grounds, so make sure they're both clean and true. Mine were good for a few weeks using the vampire taps, but when it rained, I would get similar erratic behavior to what you describe. After ditching the taps and actually soldering the connections, they've been rock-solid.
Of course, this does not rule out the possibility that your probe is toast, but fixing the ground = almost free, whereas new probe = $$$

Thanks guys.
Now it's a matter of waiting for the weather to warm up a bit, and taking out the Defi pod! :furious:

I have the same problem......all of a sudden gauge went dead..it still has power, lights up, but the needle is stuck at 400...since it went dead i've seen it spike up to 600 once, but other than that it wont move..I also have the omori gauge and it's worked great for months until today???

I had a similar problemt with my VDO EGT gauge. The grounding problem could be at your temp probe. I checked the grounding at the gauge but that was fine. I remove the probe and reinstalled it and the problem went away.
