Hello. Who has gotten an update or confirmation that their car has arrived in Santa Cruz? I was one the first 5 people to put a deposit on a WRX wagon, but I haven't heard anything from the dealership. Any updates from anyone out there? Thanks!

u're right over by there! go stop for a visit! really, sandy called me this saturday and told me mine is coming in on the 16th. i believe i was 6th or 7th on the list. some of the earlier ones should have arrived by today.

Sandy didn't process the orders "in order received". I'm pretty upset actually, since I don't have a car until my WRX comes in, and I was 4th on the list.

Basically the story I heard was as follows. Initially all the orders were listed with an arrival date of 3/19. Some of the cars recently got "bumped" to 3/12 or 3/16. Mine was not among them. Sandy told SOA not to send him too many cars at once, for lack of lot space and wanting to spead out the deliveries a bit. That's understandable, but he should have ensured that those who have been waiting the longest, received theirs first.

So as you see, the 3/19 date is basically a "placeholder" -- I have a feeling it's going to slip in the negative direction for those of us in the "leftover" allocation.

OTOH, he should probably have called you to come in and do your paperwork. Give him a buzz.

I called them today to see what was up with my car. I talked to Sandy's daughter and she told me that mine was coming in March 19th. Which is really bad timing for me. I was expecting it the week before. If it does come in after March 18, then I can't pick my car up until April 7th because I'm gonna be out of the state! I believe i was around #12 or something like that.

HKB, I suggest you find someone you trust to take delivery of the car for you and park it somewhere safe. You don't want them using it for test drives. Santa Cruz is a reputable dealer, but they can't control the person who is driving the car.

The reason I said March 19 seems to be a "placeholder" date is because some cars were updated to "actual" dates when they were presumably on their way to be delivered. I'm guessing that cars that are still listed as the 19th have not yet been loaded for delivery. Chances are most of the delivery trucks have been mobilized for the first "drop", so we are not likely to see the second round of cars very soon after that.

I would love to be proven wrong. This is just my guess.
