Ok, I've read the Daniel Stern site, but I'm still unclear. When properly aimed, should my EDM STi lights have 2 kinks ( __/__/ ) or just one ( __/ ). The picture below is confusing me b/c there is only one kink in the pattern. That would mean I need to crank my passenger horizontal adjuster waaaaay over to the drivers side.

According to the Stern site:

"European ECE headlamps have a "kink" or "elbow" at the top of the center of the beam pattern, where the cutoff bends upwards. Adjust each headlamp so that the kink lines up (left-to-right) with the [centerline] mark for whichever headlamp you're working on. The tolerance here is +/- 2 inches of point (c). Slight leftward aim (-1") increases seeing distance down the road, but excessive leftward aim increases glare to oncoming traffic"

The bolded section indicates to me that properly aimed, an EDM beam should have 2 kinks in it.

You are right. The owner of the car in that picture posted somewhere that he chose to align the elbows in the cutoff by aiming each light slightly inward (toward the vehicle's centerline).

This is true. I have the JDm RHD models. When the beams are aligned to the center (focused), the glare to oncomming traffic is just rediculous. I keep the beams low and off center to prevent glare, at least until I do the LHD conversion.
