Ok so I've decided to buy one of these cars. I really like both, can't make up my mind. I've kind of decided to let the dealers fight it out to see who makes me the better deal. Considering it's 04, I figure they should try to push the 03's hard right?

For an STi, I am figuring I should pay about 28.5, for the evo, probably 27.5. Do those figures sound right? I know what my car is worth, I am willing to let them make about 1k on the resale-and I will point this out to them. The only fees I will pay are tax/title...I don't want any accessories and I don't think I should have to pay for something they installed already (boost meter or whatever). They can take it off if they want.

Am I being unreasonable in my figures? I will not be financing through them, I will be getting a check from the credit union. I don't NEED a new car...so I figure I am in a position to walk if they don't take my price. Plus, they really do need to move the 03's now right?

Sounds like your going in there with the upper hand. You should get a good deal.

Enjoy your new car.

Too bad they didnt make an 03 STI. That should settle that debate.

Personaly, as much as I like Subaru I might just go with the EVO. Its definetly a better tarmac car, on the other hand I've beaten a couple of porches and bimmers thru the potholes and dips-

You're in the ballpark. Make sure to watch out when the new Blue Book comes out, you could take a hit on your trade-in if you wait too long, just weigh the options.
