I have a stock '00 RS front bumper kit that is pretty scratched up. Hitting that temporary traffic barrier this morning didnt help.
SO what are the chances of finding a paint/body shop that can match the stock paint and give it a nice new coating?
Any other ideas for dealing with this issue?

Yes... It's not that big of a job. Any decent body shop should be able to take care of that for you for less then $300.

I took it to a place that supposdly does very good work and they said they would paint it and smooth out all of the scrapesand divets for $450. I thought that was high, but they do use Dupont paint with clear coat.
Suprisingly, they said they could paint my hood for 220. I have a white car and i have been considering painting my hood, or at least the center portion between the bevels a dark grey/light black. I thought 220 was damn cheap.

We are having/had both done - front was a bumper replacement:
$179/bumper and $370 for the paint and clear coat
Rear bumper (we got rearended) estimate is $390 to remove, sand, paint and reinstall. Keep in mind that it may cost more for a guaranteed match on the paint. since the car is only 8mo old we really didn't need the match.
