Anyone running nitrous on 93 pump gas? I was wondering if it's safe to do.. I know of course it's always better to run it on some sort of race gas, but that gets very expensive fast. So I was wondering, if I retarded timing a little bit and turned down to boost on a VF30, is it possible to run nitrous on pump gas without danger?

For example.. I run 24 degrees of advance and 18psi on pump gas. No knock whatsoever. Say I turn it down to 16psi, and 19-20deg. of advance, throw a 50shot nitrous jet and 75shot fuel jet, would that be safe?

I was told that you could, by turning things down like you are talking about. Though by doing so I am not sure what the net power gain would be.

Mmmmm nitrous.

I personally would not even try it. Pump Gas, Boost, Nitrous and EJ20 aren't really good friends.

YOu probably could re-jet the the fuel nozzle and possibly run it that way... but i definitely wouldn't recommend it.

I'm not going to get it until after I get into the 11's.. if it's possible on the 30. I'm still going for the record.. but it's hard because I think my tranny isn't going to hold for much longer. We'll see what happens though.

I heard that UR's WRX sprayed on pump gas and went a mid 12... that's pretty impressive. But I wouldn't feel safe at all. I'm just tired of getting C16 all the time and it gets very expensive very fast.

Pay to play.

I think I'd rather pay for gas than to pull out a motor.

P.S. Good Luck with the record.

I don't have personal experience on the EJ20 motors, but other motors I've sprayed with pump gas have been fine on 93 on under 100h.p. settings. Most important, follow the manufacturers instructions on jetting. Nitrous Express kits are extremely conservative on the tune-up (read: FAT). Most people start blowing stuff when they modify the jet spreads. Also, NX makes some awesom fuel additives to run with pump gas.

Can you tell I'm an NX fan? I'm a dealer and they have an awesome program. I'll be glad to answer any further questions!
