Does anyone know how to safely remove the needles from the speedo, tach, ect? And also how do u go about reinstalling them...

There is no guaranteed safe way to remove them because they aren't meant to be removed. If you're installing glow gauge faces or whatever it can probably be done by slipping the face over the needle rather than removing it. Many who have attempted this type of install have damaged their instruments beyond repair and wound up buying a new cluster.

would a dealership be aable to replace the needles, with other aftermarket needles, like the ones on ebay that glow blue instead of orange?

Messing with the needles will see you at the dealer ordering a new cluster.
It is a very expensive thing to learn the hard way.
It has been TRIED many times...

A dealership will not touch this. Stay away from the crap on Ebay.

this sucks. I really want to make my gauge cluster red.

Its not the money for the STi cluster than keeps me from getting it either, its the whole 'odometer' issue. I know it can be set professionally but it seems your car is still 'branded for life' as a potentially false odometer reading vehicle. Should i ever want to sell it I'd be screwed

....buy a 'new'(used) cluster....remove stock one and put in safe place......experiment on 'new'(used) cluster........reinstall stock one when needed.

that is a remarkably simple but good idea. i dont know why i didnt think of it. thanks! usually they arent even too expensive used.
