*The header shown above is available with optional thermal coating.*
The header is fully stainless steel and all expansion joints are welded up for a perfect no leak fit. Included is a bung for your stock egt, (which can be plugged if you don't desire to run one) and a bung for your O2 sensor. The header takes the place of the stock exhaust manifold AND up pipe from engine to turbo. The header provides dramatic gains in the midrange and the top end. I have had one for 10 months and have nothing but positive things to say about the power and the destinctive sound. It installs with no cutting on 02-04 WRX's and STI's, and the stock plastic undertray can be used with minor modifaction. This header helped us achive 260 ft lb of torque at the wheels on the stock turbo with only a GP MOTO turboback and UNICHIP.
The price will be set at $600 shipped to anywhere in the US. Canadian customers may pay extra for shipping. These are brand new fully warranteed headers.
If you want the optional 2500F thermal coating inside and out It will be a extra $220 (shipping included) and approx 10 days extra before shipping.
*If you get your header coated, I can have aftermarket EGT bungs installed to your specifications.*

*Header shown above is standard header non thermal coated. (All new headers will have welded expansion joints)*
Please post or PM with any questions. This was a group buy, but now this is the everyday low price!

Ashley

Rallycarperson 01-31-2004, 02:56 PM Do you loose low-end power????
And what does thermal coating do???

There was a very slight loss of low end compared to a car with stock header, catless up pipe and turboback. Much more mid and top end power, however. My car w\ just the header, turboback and NO engine management on stock turbo, was faster than catless cars WITH engine managment and stock turbo.
After I put engine managment on my car (GP MOTO UNICHIP) The car has MUCH more low and mid than any other stock turbo car I have heard of or been in. It put down 260 ft lbs of torque to the wheels, on a dyno that stock cars put down around 170 ft lbs. This was on the STOCK turbo.
You can just toss it on and feel a very positive gains, But tuning will really bring a smile to you face :D
The thermal coating helps keep the exhaust heat in the header to help spool the turbo faster and lower underhood temps. It makes the header more efficient.
Please feel free to ask any other questions you may have.

Ashley
Silver Bullet 02 02-02-2004, 05:22 PM Do you have a before and after dyno sheet?

Unfortunately no I don't. Im working on getting one from a local customer that has dynoed his car before, and will dyno it after the header.

RyeDaddy 02-03-2004, 12:25 AM  Great price! Why did it have to go on sale now?! I just spent all my money!:furious:

Edit: Just noticed that's everyday price now, that's awesome! I'll be buying one soon...
firedog25 02-03-2004, 12:35 AM Does the oil filter being in such close proximity to the header have any effect on the filter or oil? I mean, they're so close it looks like they're dating.
Dynamispeed 02-03-2004, 02:38 AM There is actually plenty of room between the filter and header. The pictures were at a slight angle, so the two look a bit closer than they actually are.

PJAWRX03 02-03-2004, 04:20 PM I am not sure with a quick look but does in include the up pipe piece

Yes it does. It is all one piece from engine to turbo. No need to worry about uppipe leaks
;)

Dynamispeed 02-03-2004, 11:09 PM nightime bump for headers.
skinart76 02-04-2004, 12:26 AM This is still one of the best looking headers around!
XT6Wagon 02-04-2004, 02:21 AM Please note: This is a one piece header, but it WILL install WITHOUT jacking the motor up at all.
Dynamispeed 02-06-2004, 10:32 AM Bump. XT6 is correct. installation is pretty straightforward.

DetroitWRX 02-13-2004, 01:07 AM I use a primitive skid plate in the winter will it still fit with the headers on?
Dynamispeed 02-13-2004, 10:31 AM Good question. I am not 100% sure but I believe the header will work with the skidplate. The header does not hang very low at all.
I will try to confirm this.

Ashley

Ashley,
What is this 'minor modification' to the stock plastic undertray that needs to be done to use these headers? BTW, I am thinking about getting a set of these for my 04 STi in the future.
-Matt
Dynamispeed 02-25-2004, 11:29 AM A small hole for clearance on the passenger side. Let the header melt the hole in the tray, then clean it up with a dremel.
Easy as pie!!

Nivek-CA 03-01-2004, 02:53 PM Can you PM your best price for your turbo back system and coated headers (can you quote me a price with a coated uppipe and a price without the uppipe) picked up?
Dynamispeed 03-01-2004, 03:10 PM The uppipe is included in the header, so the entire header would be coated.
I am PMing you now
-Ashley
Nivek-CA 03-01-2004, 05:25 PM I have an STI so there is no real value in an uppipe; even if it is coated, it is so short it would not be of significant benefit in light of the additioanl cost. The headers are where the gains can really be felt from the coating. Let me know if it is possible without the uppipe. I will check the PM now.
XT6Wagon 03-01-2004, 07:02 PM The up-pipe section is an integrated part of the header. The one piece design strangely enough is easier to install than many 2 peice headers, yet has no up-pipe joint to leak. Also the 02 sensor is moved to the back of the top of the up-pipe so it gets a clean read from all cylinders unlike some 4-1 headers that only present the 02 sensor with one cyls flow.

Mr.Hanky 03-06-2004, 02:17 PM That is really nice but I wish there was a way to tell what affect it would have on my stage 3 car. I am real close to those torque numbers already.
Steve..
Dynamispeed 03-06-2004, 09:53 PM Well I just put a header on a customers car (stage 3) that wanted to swap his current header for a GP MOTO header. He was very impressed w\ the mid and top end gains over his previous setup. Sorry, we didn't put it on the dyno to get power figures.
The Dynamispeed car put down the 260 ft lbs on CA 91 octane w\ only the header turboback and unichip. Stock turbo. Stock intercooler. A GP MOTO header WILL get you better #s than your stock header.
