I dont know if it has happened to anyone else, but the rear window on my 03 rex has a rattle on bumpy roads, potholes, etc. Anyone else had this problem? Any ideas of a fix?

If you have a sedan, it could be a loose window moulding or something loose in the trunk under the deck lid.

When I got my spoiler installed The center brake light housiing was removed. The dealer put it back on and didn't screw the bolt tight enough.

Let us know what you find.

My rear window is most definitely loose...It has started leaking a bit recently, and I'm waiting for that one bad bump and *poof*...broken window...
At least I cured it from rattling/squeaking all the time by riding in the back seat while a friend drove the car over a stretch of road where it always rattled and I just pushed, gently:rolleyes:, around on it until it finally reseated a bit and stopped making noises. Now it just makes noises over bad bumps.

I have rear window rattle with my RS when there's ice at the bottom of the window. Snow gets jammed there when I open and close the trunk.

the windows can be adjusted to correct the problem.remove door panal ,go to window track area and you will see the adjustment bolts for the window, for forward pitch or back pitch. every body part on are cars is adjustable.

I'm not talking about the windows in the doors....I'm talking about the BACK window....the big one...in the back...with the defroster on it.....

Ive had no prob's but windows should not rattle.(period) if it has a rattle that means the sealnt is loose and you should or will have a leak.
Once a frt or back window are sealed into place thats it.
May be something else, check the jack-I did have a prob with that. i cut up an old tire innertube and a couple of well placed peices took care of it. Also the board on the that covers the spare may rattle. i put a couple of small peices of foam fubber(one side adhesive) on the board at the mating point on the rear floor to avoid the prob. Hope it helps !

I've had my rear window rattle once. It was from little bits of ice that had gotten at the bottom of it. My car is almost always garaged so this has only happened once. Once the ice melted the rattle went away. Might be the same problem??

My windshield rattles if the revs get too low and the car bucks(traffic) Really anoying, bucking the engine AND the rattle. Havn't had a problem with the rear though.

this seems to be a prominent issue with Imprezas?

just had mine into the dealer to check on this. service tech said its the seat belt assembly and its normal.

unfortunately thats what i expected - any answer to avoid trying to fix the problem.

i'll try and solve it myself - but after my own tinkering, i really think its something other than the belt.

I just picked up my STI 2 days ago, I have about 300 miles on it, been doing plenty of BS driving just to put the miles on. My window has more of a squeak than a rattle, I think I may try some white lithium grease and see if that quiets it down.

My car doesn't have any rattles or squeaks, but its an 04 with only 4200 miles on it. Although when there's a layer of ice on the roof and the trunk and the wink, then I hear creaky noises!
