After working on several interviews(I do sound at the Indpls Motor Speedway)
I can say that she really comes across as a bitch. I am not saying she is one, but she sure does come across as one.

Chris- A friend of mine in FL who watched the race on TV live there said ABC had to do some apologizing, and cut the feed to her radio because she was little miss potty mouth everytime they went to her. Know what he's talking about? Got any of that audio?

3) Aerodynamic forces @ those speeds can cause 'wobbles'
4) That's spotter talk. He/she's supposed to be there to help them out.

hey if bumper cars win then heck who cares...thats how i play mario kart. fact is she was the first woman to ever lead a lap at teh Indy 500 and placed the highest as well. jackie robinson was the first african american to break into baseball...was he great? his stats might say otherwise, but he did well and opened new doors.

The heaviest of the current drivers is around 160. As weird as it sounds, some have actually put on weight as muscle mass so they could handle the G-forces. Rahal, was smart in finding a smaller driver than the rest. She had one wheel bang,besides her spin, who's fault it was is still up for discussion. And at 200+ she did a pretty good job of not loosing it. I believe Castroneves had one too. Didn't Someone spin a car on the pace lap a few years ago? I think if you look at her lap times she was not exactly "wildly inconsistent" as you claim.

I saw an article where Robby Gordon(who weighs a tick over 200) and a few other drivers think the IRL/crapwagon gang should go by weights WITH the driver. The Crappers said "No way." I can see they are getting attention with her and don't want to take any chances of losing her advantage.

Robby said he wouldn't race against her or in the IRL period until they changed the weigh-ins. I don't think he really cares to race in IRL anymore anyways because he sold all his chassis. He did say she is a decent driver too.

That first pic is the best I have seen her look. I caught her on one of the AM news shows Monday. She sounded much better than last time I heard her interviewed. She almost let the "S-word" go on there too but she stopped herself before it all got out.

She's not untalented, I know. She did a fine job in Atlantics, and Rahal isn't
desperate enough to give a ride to just any hack. Yes, she's a thousand times
better racer than Sarah Fisher, but that's not saying much.

The radio chatter I referred to wasn't "spotter talk", it was Rahal, trying
to talk her home in the last 20 laps. This was on the ABC broadcast. There's no doubt that she simply
spun the car, after several laps of caution. There was a slight accordion going
on, but nothing that caused anyone else much trouble. She got on the gas too
hard, then turned the wheel too far, and looped it in traffic. It was a bad rookie
mistake, if typical of many IRL races. Yes, anyone can stall it in the pits...
but doing so means you didn't do an "awesome job".

With as fast as the car as she had, and the weight advantage ( about 4% of total weight ),
she'd have won without all her mistakes. That's a poor drive.

PS To save anyone else from looking it up, IRL spec is 1620 pounds,
race ready.

She did better than 29 other drivers did, in qualifying and the race. There are many drivers over the years that have stalled in the pits, it could have been a rookie mistake, if so, alot of veterans have made the same mistake. Her spin was a bad mistake, but she recovered and was able to stay on the lead lap. She also finished the race with less than 1 gallon of gas, and had to lean it way out in order to finish. So her weight "advantage" actually worked against her. Any other driver couldn't even consider skipping the last fuel stop. She didn't make the call Rahal did. She was maintaining her lead, that she got on the restart by passing the leader, when she got the order to lean it out. If she didn't she wouldn't have finished at all. I know this because I was talking to the crew as I was tearing down the microphones in the pits.

Is she the best rookie ever at Indy...no. Is she a damn good driver...yes. And oh, yea, as I said before, after doing about 6 different interviews with her before the race, personallity wise she really came across as a bitch.

On a side note, I end next to Ashley Judd after the Awards dinner for about 10 minutes. She didn't look so good. But she was friendly enough.

She needs to put her skill to work, and get back in the kitchen to make me a pie.

I've been to the 500 enough times to see multiple rookie and veteran mishaps. she did great for a rookie. The spin under caution would have to be summed up as "one of those racing incidents". She went up to go around him, he checked up, she puckered. I would have puckered too. Perhaps some day I can make her pucker. As long as I'm in there somewhere.

anyhoo...I can remember an incident as far back as maybe 1980 that someone wrecked AJ Foyt on the warm up lap. And if I'm not mistaken, there was another warm up lap incident in the 90's.

A friend of mine was an engineer (design, car build/maint suuport, and even on the pit crew) for Rahal last year and knows her. He actually offered me a foot in the door to take his jolb if I wanted it (that would have been wierd building her car :lol: ). He doesn't speak highly of her, telling stories about her throwing plates in the truck when the cook made her eggs the wrong way. She did that in front of the sponsor rep. Lots of other funny stories about how she wasn't the greatest, but hey thats not her job to be nice (well sometimes thats her job and she doesn't do it well), its to drive. Just don't compare her against a class act like Mario Andretti or anything.

Welcome to the world of racing gentleman! Theres so many tricks when racing.. some people are pretty smart. I remember in go karts fat kids were faster because they had bigger restrictor plates in their karts. Thats when us light guys added weight to allow us to run a larger restrictor. Yeah slower from a complete stop but when the weights moving its not noticeable, yet is allowing you to make more power from the engine.

So if your driver weighed 50lbs lighter you could carry 50lbs more fuel?
not quite. there are alot of other regulations that go into it such as fuel capacity.

Take full race weight and comply with the other regulations. If you are overweight, you do design changes for weight reduction on the car in other areas, such as material selection.
