View Full Version : ATTN: Autocrossers and other racers
DeadBolt Enterprises 02-03-2004, 07:40 AM Deadbolt Enterprises will soon be carrying a line of products designed to make getting your stuff to your events easier. We will have a line of carts designed to carry tires and equipment so you don't have to carry tires in your back seat!
These carts will be small and lightweight and very easy for a Subaru to pull. We will also be offering large baskets that can mount to a standard small vehicle hitch and "float" behind the car.
Our carts, unlike traditional trailers, will have an available anti-theft provision to lock your tires in place for those far from home excursions.
Pictures coming soon. Anybody who is interested please email us at deadbolt@aol.com at any time.
GeoffM 02-23-2004, 12:05 AM You've got one interested here....PM me when you have full details...

DeadBolt Enterprises 03-05-2004, 03:06 PM OK we have finally finished testing one of our "carts" and it is GREAT! We actually modified it to fit on our Yukon, and it has been great for hauling equipment, trash, etc. I actually think that we are going to keep this one on the Yukon as it has become so useful! :)
Pics coming soon!

No actually, unlike some other vendors (both on this board and off) we use our own ideas. We seem to be the repeat victim of idea theft. I had never seen that thing until you posted the link there, which IMHO was rather tasteless. You seem to be attempting to drive traffic to a non-paying vendor for this site.
DeadBolt Enterprises 03-17-2004, 08:05 AM Sorry pics are taking so long folks, I want to have pics of the cart mounted and the Yukon is out having some work done. As soon as it gets back (and the weather clears enough to go outside) I will get a few pics.
AriAllen 03-17-2004, 10:12 AM First of all I'm not trying to drive business anywhere, I gain nothing in such an endavor.
I am an autocrosser, and the vendor I mentioned is only known to me because they pay for adverts in the SCCA sportscar magazine. If you are an SCCA member, well... I would think you've seen it too. Their product has been out for some time.
If it is of better quality/price, then kudos to you, thats called competition. If it isn't, customers should be able to make an informed choice.

Theirs is obviously a single purpose item, you can only hang tires on it. Are you sure you don't have anything to gain from sending business their way? It is pretty obvious that their unit is a one-purpose item, whereas from our original post:

Just trying to clarify what your motive might be for posting that outside link in my announcement.
Besides the petty bickering, what ever came of this?
DeadBolt Enterprises 05-02-2004, 02:54 PM Egan,
These have been put on hold, it turns out to sell these they have to be approved by the D.O.T. so we have to go through a fairly lengthy (and expensive) process to get them approved. :(
Midnight_Gold 05-06-2004, 11:03 PM You guys have any kind of tire rack that suspends in the air behind the car? I've seen them before and they look interesting.. would be preferable... hmmm...

Mine is sitting in the garage ready to be installed. :)
2004STiGuy 05-15-2004, 09:07 PM PM me and send some pix please. Thanks.
DeadBolt Enterprises 06-09-2004, 06:07 PM Sorry guys, someone apparently had a problem with us building these then reported us to the Dept. of Transportation Safety Division who sent us a letter stating that we could not sell these unless they went through their certification process, crash testing, etc. (Gotta love a tattle tale  )This is not only expensive, but we have to provide them with SEVERAL of them to evaluate, it is not something that is going to be cost effective for us at this time. Sorry, but we will now not be building these now.
