has anyone ever put a sti motor into a 2.5rs. basically same right?
if anyone knows or cares give me some info. (aka where to get a short block and a diagram for ECU stuff)

A full motor no... too much work with the new ecu and all. A short block yet. Please to a search because its been covered before.

sweet man thanks but i still am going to do it. but not just the motor now, drivetrain and brakes, 22b out side panels and a roll cage. but this in a matter of many many years and all done by me or friends that know cars.
and for now i am gathering information about this so if you have anything or anyone that knows about this please let me know

There is a lot more info if you search... that should be enought to get you started. A few points, the new ecu is fly by wire which makes things very tricky. The 6 speed may or may not need to have some tunnel work done to fit. Also remember to plan everything out, a project like this can get out of control very quickly.

Research by searching. Asking a blanket question such as this won't yield nearly the same amount of information.
