Does anyone have these bulbs installed? If so, would it be possible to get night time shots head on as well as angle too? I would really appreciate it if anyone can. Thanks in advance!

i just put these pics in. sorry im not posting pics, but they DO make a nice improvement.

they make an aesthetic improvement. i have them and the light isn't necessarily brighter but definitely whiter. there's a bulb comparo somewhere in here. might have to dig a bit.

when you say whiter, do you mean it as in almost flourescent white? I just wanna know if yellowish tint is present or not.

edit: I found the pics and made a before/after shot... but my stupid server is down and so I can't host it now. I'll try again later tonight or tomorrow.

i have the silver stars theyre definatley nice looking and whiter. almost makes my headlights look greenish. visibility is improved i think as much as u can get without going the hid route.

As migs said, it's only an aesthetic improvement. If you are going for more light output (as in brightness, not color), there are better halogen bulb alternatives.

I'm just looking for the whitest bulb possible w/o any yellowness present and thats non-HID. I guess you can say I'm more on the cosmetic side than performance, but having both would be really nice. Oh, and thanks for the pic! appreciate it.

If you're looking for cosmetic only, the whitest I've seen are the PIAA Xtreme Whites. I believe they just came out with the Xtreme White plus which is supposedly better. In anycase, just be forewarned that any bulbs that have blue coating on them will significantly reduce the light output during inclement weather (especially when it's raining or foggy). It almost seems as your headlights aren't on. The PIAAs do look nice though. I had them for a while before going to HIDs.

lol i have the piaa's xtreme white plus bulbs currently installed...but they still seem to produce the yellowish tint. Thats why I'm not going to go w/ the SS, cuz i've heard mostly good feedbacks.

Picked up a set of PIAA Xtreme Whites Plus - 9005 for my 04 STi's high beams.

Not impressed with the build quaility especially compared to the OEM Sylvania 9005 units.

The filament and electrical bulb to housing connections make the OEM ones look military spec.

Also, they do not seem to fit as snugly into the healight assembly as the OEM units = which concerns me as they may not provide as nice of a seal from dust/moisture compared to the OEM units.

If you care about quaility stick with the offernings from the OEM suppliers Sylvania or Philips.....



too funny - I went to PIAA's FAQs after posting... interesting my concers seem to be other's reality as noted in the FAQ section.....

This is the third bulb to blow out in four months; why does this keep happening?

My lamps have water in them for the third time, how can I stop this from happening?

dtech...I know you are really only interested in cosmetics and how they look. But if you look at the bumper of the car Slowpoke's pic. you can see that the Silverstars does not light up the bumper as well as the stock bulb... This is what it is like when driving in rain with the silverstars. The color looks great but the light is almost non existent!

But if color is what you want...I say just go for the cheapest one there is! Cuz if you spend anywhere near $100 I would choose HID!:p

LoL i would definitely go HID, but my dad might buy me a bmw 325i soon, so i'm just gonna try the silverstars on my 02' xterra and let it be. Anyhow, check out this exaggerated pic of silverstars in action.

I have some pics I found off of another site with them on a Honda at some really good angles.. They look good. However Piaa makes stronger light output bulbs but they emit more heat...
