I have a few questions about changing the crossmember. I have searched for information, but can't seem to find definite answers. I'm wondering what all is involved in changing the engine crossmember? My car is a '95 Impreza with an EJ22T, and I'll be swapping in the correct crossmember for the engine soon. It seems that the control arms have to be removed? Will the steering rack have to be removed or unbolted? Can this be done without removing the engine, maybe by lifting or jacking the motor up a little? One last question: Does anyone know which front endlinks will work with a WRX wagon front swaybar? Thanks! :)

You can use the WRX endlinks.
Basically you remove the steering rod from the universal, disconnect the power steering lines, drop the steering rack, remove the control arms from the crossmember, loosen up the engine mount bolts, then jack the engine up.
Hope that helps.

Thanks for the info! So my stock endlinks can't be used, then? I'll have to shop around for some aftermarket ones. By any chance, does anyone know if the front sway bar on an '04 WRX wagon the same as the '02-'03?

Endlinks are universal in the front except for the sedan which uses a heim joint (I think that is the word). The sedan endlinks attach to the control arm in a different manner; the sway bar attachment is the same. My car is using my '96 L control arms, 2002 sedan swaybar, and Whiteline GC/GM/GF solid endlinks (which had previously been on my WRX wagon). WRX wagon control arms share the same attachment point and type for the endlinks as the older chassis.
scoobyimprza's directions are a little brief, but that is about right. It is rather obvious what has to be done when you get in there.
