I know this mod is discussed on scoobymods and has been in our forums. I would like someone to do this mod to my RHD JDM STI headlights. Is there anyone locally in Houston perhaps that would like to help me out. I can pay with food, beer or whatever we negotiate.

Bah...just level out the beam plate... That is what I did and it is great.

Instead of -----------\______

I get --------------------------------------------- :D

I was thinking" why did't someone think of that earlier" that what I would have did. Isn't that how the Acura integras projectors are? I could still see road signs with ------------------------------

Realize that if you level the beam plate out you won't get good seeing distance.

The purpose for the "z-beam" is to provide limited seeing distance and limited glare on the traffic side, and increased seeing distance on the off-traffic side.

I've got the beam cutoff right at the bottom of car windshields at approx 200ft it actually provides excellent distance light. At least as much as the lamp is able to illuminate and be effective.
I never get flashed, btw.

If your beam cutoff is ever higher than the middle of the headlamp itself, it means that your lights are aimed upwards. The further away you get, the higher your cutoff gets. That means you increase glare, both for other people and for yourself. It's much more of a problem in bad weather.

The fact that people don't flash you doesn't mean you're not blinding them. Most American headlights cause ridiculous amounts of glare anyway.

Isn't reduced glare one of the big reasons to get better lights though?
