finnRex 02-21-2004, 01:21 AM Remove your glove box, and on the right side of where the glove box would be, there's a black box. Remove wiring harness from box, and replace glove box. Drink a 40 oz, and you're done.

GMTarkin 02-21-2004, 02:06 AM Next to the boost controller, and a little lower down, there's a Big Silver Pill... looks like a Silver PEZ, its the DLR module, unplug it and viola!
make sure you havent been running the car, it gets mighty hot
Uncle Scotty 02-21-2004, 02:25 AM Either/or both of the above work.....

nhluhr 02-21-2004, 02:41 AM important note on the above:
the silver box near the boost controller is nothing more than a ballast resistor. Removing it will in fact disable the daytime running lamps, but if you install aftermarket lights or something, you'll notice that they are still coming on. To fully disable the DRL, you need to remove the DRL control module, which is the one behind the glovebox as mentioned above. Details on both of these processes can be found on www.scoobymods.com

DECALFX 01-05-2006, 12:06 AM Sup guys?
I Just Disabled Mine 2 Min Ago. I Have An 06 Wrx, Hooked Up Some Aftermarket Hids And When I Turned The Car On, The Hids Were Flashing Like Strobe Lights BUT WERE FINE ONCE I TURNED THE HEADLIGHTS ON. SO I FOUND THE MODULE ON THE 06 AND UNPLUGGED IT AND NOW EVERYTHING IS MAGNIFICENT. NO MORE DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS AND NO MORE STROBES
Now, you DO NOT need to remove the glove box to unplug the DRL Module. Simply tuck under the glove box after with your head and look UP, TO THE RIGHT, and BACKWARD (towards where your passengers knees would be), you will see a 10 pin harness (YELLOW) in color, push the tab on the harness and pull DOWN TOWARD THE FLOOR. KISS THOSE DAMN DRLs GOODBYE!!!!!!
OBSERVE.

But but but, disconnecting the module in the engine compartment feels more working-on-car'ing.
