Need some help. Been browsing the net for a while. My exhaust is too loud. I have a 2.5" custom catback with a free flow muffler. It was ok until I took it on a trip for 3 hours straight. I have a hell of a headache now.

I read that installing a resonator reduces the noise level 3 to 6dB. I need to find a universal resonator with 2.5" inlet/outlet. Any ideas of where to find one?

Resonators are (usually) located in the exhaust tip of aftermarket exhausts, so that they are removable if desired. Therefore, one of these resonators is specific to the tip on your muffler, and won't be universal fit. The other option you have is to get a resonator welded into your midpipe (ie: as found on your stock exhaust system) which is of course non-removable.

Any ideas of where I can buy a Universal Resonator to weld to the midpipe?

Any decent muffler shop should have them in stock. Just tell them what you want and they'll be able to do it. Make sure you tell them you want the most straight through one they have.

I just had this done on tuesday, took 1 hour, $60.
