View Full Version : 12L STi water spray/injection tank installed. Charged Performance 02-26-2004, 12:58 AM N/M. Ed. 8Complex 02-26-2004, 01:19 AM Yup, thats a nice tank... but is that a WRX? Charged Performance 02-26-2004, 01:22 AM Installed in the STi. Removed the stock 4L one and looking to put in an optima or braille battery in its place. skywalker 02-26-2004, 06:50 AM Wow, very cool. :) Cheers, Bill Knose I-Speed USA www.i-speed.us jblaine 02-26-2004, 09:57 AM Now the question is, how much of your WI/ICspray gains does that 25lbs of water + tank remove ;) 8Complex 02-26-2004, 10:19 AM This actually belongs in the Vendor Announcements forum... the only place you're really allowed to advertise products without actually selling them (which'd go in the Vendor Classifieds). WRXpkr 02-26-2004, 10:25 AM well is it really for sale? Is it false advertising that thier trying to make it sound like thier making them? Im kinda confused as to the whole point of this thread. its an STI piece that anyone can get... Ive had mine in my trunk for over a year already :p tdxflex 02-26-2004, 10:41 AM does the cusco rear strut tower v-brace fit with this tank? turboICE 02-26-2004, 11:14 AM This was not an announcement. It is an STi part that has been available for years. It was a thread to show a part after it has been installed since I had not previously seen an installed picture before. I fail to see how this is an announcement anymore than any "hey here is what my ###### looks like installed" thread. Or for that matter hey here is what the block looks like after we have machined it - which all imply contacting them for engine building - why not move all those threads to announcements? When I posted I didn't realize that I was on the vendor account but would have done on this personal account if I realized it. It was to share information. There is no offer for sale or anything - simply hey here it is. While some have one and know about it many don't or had not seen it installed before. The label on the picture is because people will take anything not labeled and reuse it everywhere. Each day I regret bothering to post more and more. Ed. jblaine 02-26-2004, 11:22 AM There's no reason to get all bent out of shape about it. Maybe you shouldn't label your pictures "Charged Performance 12L STi Tank", but in any regard it was a simple mistake then by a moderator. I'm sure he'll move it back. I, too, thought this was some form of new product of yours with that labeling on the images. A "customized" 12L STi tank, etc. turboICE 02-26-2004, 11:23 AM Originally posted by tdxflex does the cusco rear strut tower v-brace fit with this tank? Will be finding out soon enough - i.e. after I get around to installing the pinks, hardened top mounts, Cusco OS bar and the triangle brace. Time.... more parts waiting for installation than actually installed. turboICE 02-26-2004, 11:28 AM Originally posted by jblaine There's no reason to get all bent out of shape about it. Given your aggressive consumerism and related posts - that is a funny comment - who stole your account? ;) Not that I have disagreed with you but as a customer have you not gotten bent out of shape? Maybe you shouldn't label your pictures "Charged Performance 12L STi Tank", but in any regard it was a simple mistake then by a moderator. Look at it this way as vendors we are the only true customers of NASIOC - so my response is no different than yours as a paying customer. The favoratism of the moderators accepting all types of posts from their nonNASIOC vendor friends and nonmoderation of their friends' postings is getting old. If these pictures were not labeled they would be used by every T,D&H out there. jblaine - we are all allowed to be consumers who expect good treatement, right? Ed. turboICE 02-26-2004, 11:34 AM Originally posted by jblaine Now the question is, how much of your WI/ICspray gains does that 25lbs of water + tank remove ;) For spraying probably definitely not worth it. I use the larger capacity for water injection which can go quickly in a road course track environment. Where yes it woudl be worth the added weight. Oops looks like a technical discussion in the announcement section. Ed. jblaine 02-26-2004, 11:34 AM Certainly, Ed, but if this isn't a new product or vendor-related, your relationship to NASIOC in this post is as a non-paying user and that's the hat to wear for it. There was no crime against Charged Performance, the paying NASIOC Vendor, in this thread moving. You're not a customer in this context. turboICE 02-26-2004, 07:16 PM Re-posted under my personal account. This is not a part that Charged Performance normally carries or lists - though we do obtain it for customers that request it. This is an STi RA Type C part which will fit 2002 and later imprezas - maybe earlier as well but I don't know. My hope was that it would be helpful to see the part installed but now that it has been relegated to this low volume visited section I guess only the most fervent board readers will see it. http://www.chargedperformance.com/images/WaterInjection/Tank12LInstalled04.jpg http://www.chargedperformance.com/images/WaterInjection/Tank12LInstalled02.jpg The nice thing is the existing hose is split with a coupling right where you need it to attach to the tank. You do need to seperate the current pump and level switch harness from the rest of the rear harness to reach the plug though. Also the weight differential of 8L of water is only 17.637472 lbs. which is better placed over the wheels than behind the wheels. redobs 02-27-2004, 03:07 PM Thank you for the pics.:) turboICE 03-02-2004, 05:51 PM Here is the harness that you will need to unwrap and seperate and rewrap to reach the plug forward to its new position. In the background you can see the newly discovered battery space. :) http://chargedperformance.com/images/WaterInjection/STiWaterSprayWiring.jpg enewtabie 03-06-2004, 08:04 PM Im getting my spray tank Tuesday..Anymore advice on installing it. turboICE 03-06-2004, 08:42 PM It is pretty straight forward. Take the brackets apart and attach to the tank first, then attach the brackets to the vertical bars. It will fit perfectly into the mold of the floor, but I left it up about 1/8" to slide the carpet in and out underneath of it. Ed. PS - Getting the old one out if you are removing it - remove the two bolts on the tank base and then pop the tank out of the hole on the bottom seen near my hand in the picture - hidden of course by the wire. Do not seperate the tank from the base though. |
