Nice job putting together the central Ohio meet, Rob! It was fun and great to meet everyone!

I'm trying to get on the LERSOC e-groups list so I can keep in touch with all of the Cleveland group.

Anyways, thanks for all of the time you put into organizing the meet!

Hear, hear! I'll second that, great meet! Lots of fun. You did a great job Rob.

I've got a bunch of pics. I've got like 20 on Hotmail. Hotmail sucks though and is slow as spit. Takes about two minutes to upload a pic! And I'm on cable...Grrr(do I scare you?)

I didn't have time yesterday to put the pics up here, but they should be up tonight... Mostly just a bunch of pictures of us all in a line going down those fun roads...

Later, and good day to y'all

Thanks guys. It did turn out pretty well i thought. Not too bad for the first time i have ever done something like this. The weather turned out great and the day went well. And no one went swimming this time http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/wink.gif

A little less traffic on some of the roads would have been better, but what can you expect for it being a really nice saturday afternoon.

Looking forward to seeing the pics. It might be a while before i can get mine posted because i have to get them developed and scanned.

But it was definately a fun time and some fun roads. Gave everyone a chance to push their cars to the limit, well atleast mine, i had to try and keep up with you guys. http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/biggrin.gif

The next meet for the Ohio area will probably be up north somewhere. Probably around Akron as it usually is, but i wont' be putting that one together. But if it is up there, i'll try to get everyone together down here that wants to travel up together.

Anyway, thanks to all of those who came and I look forward to seeing you guys again.

Hee hee....You think you had troubles keeping up. http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/smile.gif

I could just feel the groceries flying around in the back of my "grocery getter" wagon!

Sorry to the guys who were behind me. My fiancee discovered what those "Oh *****" handles are for!

Nice pics Silas. When you have a "co-driver" you can take some nice driving shots. We probably could have done a little better job of getting the cars arranged out on the grass, but it still turned out well.

That sure was a tight squeeze to get in between those rocks.

See you around.

Well, maybe next time I won't be so lazy as to leave my car not parked by everyone else's. That way, maybe it'll actually make it into a picture.

I had a good time, even though i had to bail early.

Good pics Silas! I tried to snap a few action shots myself, but it's rather hard to focus and aim a camera and drive 70 mph around very tight corners at the same time. http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/smile.gif

That was a really fun meet, lots of excellent driving and a beautiful day to boot. Cool stuff. And for all the whining I think everyone liked the walks in the park. http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/smile.gif

I might do a bit of experimenting in the area up here and see if there are any possibilities for similar fun in my area. Maybe later this summer we could have a meet "up north".

Not much action on the lersoc email today so I figured I'd hit the i-club. Sure enough here you all are...

Thanks to everyone who made this an exciting trip. I had a great time, it's always fun to get to drive the car hard for more than 40 second intervals at the auto-x's. Besides it's not like we were all going to get pulled over. (strength in numbers) http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/tongue.gif

Thanks for all the planning that went into this and everyone who came out. We should definitely make it an annual event. See you guys around.

Cheers!

Wow... Looks like I should pay more attention... I was actually down that way Saturday too...

[kicking myself in the head]

Sorry i missed it. Someone smack me next time there's an OH meet in case I don't notice. I only check the board about once a week anymore, so I miss these things.

Uh, Jasony, the post about it was toward the top for the last month... Too bad you didn't get to come along, critical mass is fun!

Hey, Neil: Sorry, about that. I had a hunch as you left that you hadn't made it into any of the photos. And I wanted one of the silver sedan...

One thing I notice about the Ohio meets is that we all seem to lazy to realy get some good static group shots. We just pull up and park, we never try to organize a good group photo. We may never reach 60+ cars, but 8-10 can still be impresive. We could have at least gotten that Yellow Acrapa outa there(sorry, couldn't resist. I promise I'll stop nockin your car.)

Yeah, you took some nice shots there, Silas. I especially like the one of the OBS. Who owns that? http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/tongue.gif

It was cool to have the Teg there. It made the rest of us look really good. Just joking. Seriously, that was a really nice looking Integra. Unfortunately, I didn't get to see how she handled in the twisties.

Everyone had great rides. It was an honor to run with the RSs. http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/smile.gif

Just remember that I had owned an RS for YEARS before most of you guys even thought of getting one! I just moved on to bigger and better things.

Man, I am sooo jealous right now. I spent most of my Saturday cursing at the lawnmore after the engine siezed up on me, and then 3 harrowing hours at Home Depot trying to figure out which mower to buy and how much I was willing to spend. I did end up w/ a kick-ass John Deere, but I much would've rather been down in the Hocking Hills w/ you all. I didn't see any WRXs in the photos ... I take it none made the trip?

Homer
05-01-2001, 10:21 AM
Hey, AudiGuy! Yeah, sorry you couldn't make it... Nope, no 02 models, no WRXs... Otherwise there'd'a been a ton of photos of just those... I spotted one rolling around OSU yesterday, Blaze Yellow WRX 18th and Waldeck...

Sorry about the mower, think of it in terms of fate. Perhaps it was in your fate that you would be opperating an engine that was going to sieze on that day. Better to loose a mower to your damn poor luck than one of your cars.

Hows the Deere? Is it as good as it looks in the commercials?

We should put together a little columbus evening...

Yeah, I guess it is better to have the mower engine die on me than the RS engine. Although now my CE light has come on in the RS. I'm hoping (fingers crossed) that it's the O2 sensor. My mileage has been way low (like sub 20 mpg for the most part) and I've been itching to get a new O2 sensor to make sure that's it.

I'd definitely be up for a Columbus evening GTG. Maybe we could do it at Byers in Dublin. There's also a good dead-end right next to my house that would be a good meeting place.

RedBrighton96
05-01-2001, 11:45 AM
A little gtg would be cool. Although if it's during the week in the evening i wont' be able to make it. I work twilight shift at UPS so that means i'm usually busy from 4 until around 10. I'm sure we could probably meet at one of the auto-x's sometime this year. We'll get something figured out.

Anyway, i'm glad everyone had fun on the trip and to those that didn't make it, you just suck http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/tongue.gif j/k, next time i'm sure you'll be able to make it.

While both of those GTG locations sound good, I was also thinking of something like a thursday/friday night trip up to BW3s or over to Byrne's in Grandview... Something maybe the girls would want to come along on...

Silas nice pics http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/smile.gif

Xmetal where are yours??

I had an awesome time and the roads are so much fun.

Much respect to Rob and his little brighton he kicks some major arse with that thing...I'd hate to see him behind the wheel of an RS he'd leave us all behind probably.

Can't wait till the next event.

Looks like a great time was had by all. Sorry I missed it, (was in South Carolina). I would have liked to see what the REX could do in the twisties. Oh well, I only have 400 miles on the odometer. Will be looking forward to the next get together.

I agree. Rob is a terror in the Brighton. That thing has a 1.8 right? I could have sworn the way he was running that he dropped in a 2.5!

Great cars, Doug and Ryan! Just looking at them gave me all kinds of evil ideas for my OBS. Now if I can just find some cash....clink...there is a quarter in my can now!

I'll get my pics up soon. I haven't had a chance yet, and today my entire building at work completely lost power (a few other buildings did too) so my servers are completely down. Doh!

Oh well, at least I got a nice day to do some work at home.

Hey Columbus guys:

I know this is off-subject, but I didn't want to make a new thread.

Did anyone see the latest '02 RS at Buyers Imports on Hamilton Road? It's Dark Blue, and has the yellow stars/swoosh on the side, and a "SUBARU" windshield banner...

I don't know whether to think that's cool, or silly... maybe it's a good sign for increased dealer appreciation of our cars?

Kalins1
05-02-2001, 09:39 AM
Whoa....Are the graphics painted on or are they decals?? Ryan was telling me that one year (I think it was '98) some of the RSs had a factory 555 paint job. Chad's RS up at Byers on Billingsley has the factory paint.

Very interesting.

I wish the new RSs still had the hood scoop. It looks silly without one IMHO!

jasony
05-02-2001, 09:55 AM
I believe they were decals, because I thought I saw an air bubble http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/wink.gif They didn't look shiny and paint-like.

I wonder why they did it to an RS, not WRX though... Must be marketing...

Kalins1
05-02-2001, 10:12 AM

Yeah my brighton only has a 1.8l in it. Thanks for the props on my driving, i try to do good at it. I'm hoping to start auto-xing this year if i have the spare cash to do it.

Ryan, i don't know what i would do if i was in an RS tearing up the roads like that. Either i would amaze myself with it or wind up in a ditch. I'd have to drive one aroud normally to get a feel for it before i could do driving like that. Oh and im sorry if i kicked up some gravel on that one turn i cut off a little too much, it felt like i got into the gravel a little and i hope i didn't kick any up and hit your car. That turn turned out to be a little sharper than i originally thought.

Anyway, definatley looking forward to the next time we can get together. And we don't even have to find roads like that to drive on, i don't mind coming up just to hang out with you guys and watch people almost get into accidents in the mall parking lots while they are lookign at our cars. I always have a blast. See you around.

Rob
