i installed a stage 2 cobb ecu 1 week 450 miles ago, im still only hitting max 10psi, i know there is a learning period but i havent heard of anyone hitting just 10psi 300+ miles in after the install

so really im just wondering if anyone has experience this.

Were you hitting normal boost before the Cobb unit? Call Cobb and ask them.

according to the piece of paper they sent me it is supposed to be running 15.8 max psi.

have you installed the vacuum restrictor?

No restrictor, i thought the restrictor only came with stage one

Call Cobb something is not right.
I'm not getting full boost with my stage 2 (14.6). I was told by Cobb that once the access port comes out they can email me a small fix to bring the boost to target.
Oh, btw mine has been on for about 6 months.

10 psi is way low. Call cobb. Something is not right. That's the only change since the reprogramming?

werd. 10 psi way low. also, no more restrictors at cobb especially stage 2. if you have the restrictor hose on from stage 1, take it off and restart.....and oh yeah, call cobb....else http://www.wrxforum.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=10;t=000003

hmm... i will call cobb 2marrow, i have a stage 2 with a Injen CAI map, so maybe that is what is making it act screwey, ... maybe i need to clean the filter or somthing, oh well.... im still call'n, but thanx all of you for your replys. ;)

Maybe you knocked a hose/connector off installing something and the wastegate is staying open  10 psi is way too low.

well i called cobb and they said it sounds like something mechanical, ... since i took off my intercooler for my downpipe installatiion i thought to myself i probabley didnt tighten all the hoses properly ... so today i took off my intercooler and re-installed it makeing sure everything was perfect, well i did and i still have the 10psi max boost... actually a couple of times hit only 7 or 8psi. ... so now the only thing it could possibly be is that i have a leak in my nylon tubing for my boost gauge .. i havent checked it yet because by the time i was done reinstalling my intercooler i was getting eat'n alive my miskeeters, so i dont know yet if thats the problem, so if its not... then where else should i check for leaks?

I would check around your wastegate if it's not the turbo gauge's hose. Sounds like your wastegate might be fully open all the time...

Does the car feel like it's not pulling? or does it feel like it is? You should know the difference, and if it feels stronger then it's your gauge. Look at your vacum lines and see if any of them are not connected. If so, look to see if any are pinched or plugged up.

I run Stage 2 as well and I hit 16PSI with all the extra mods the ECU has learned. Even after I reset the ECU after 1 or 2 hard pulls on the street I get 16PSI so it's not likely the ECU unless Cobb made some kind of mistake when they flashed it.

Try posting on Cobbs forums.

I was having the same problem only hitting 10 psi then I discoverd that the tubing I was using with my mbc was smaller in diameter than the stock tubes that connect to the "T" fitting. Once I put my stock hoses back on, boost jumped right up to 15.8 psi just as cobb said it would! Don't know if this will help or not but it's worth a try.

Do you have the stock restrictor on or in the right place?

I couldnt see or feel any type of restrictor in the hose coming from the turbo or the hose from the wastegate. The only hose with a restricter as far as I can tell is the hose that connects under the boost control cover. I wasn't hitting full boost before simply because the diameter of the tubing I had on was too small, so I put the stock hoses back on and it all works great.

All my hoses are still stock, im just gonna pull the boost gauge and check that, if its not that then its gotta be the wastegate, i dunno..... but i did hit 11 psi today... yippee.

well... today i unplugged the wastegate hose from the "T" and blocked it off, i took it for a test run and boosted all the way... i let off the throttle ass soon as i hit 16/17psi .. but if i stayed on it... i would definitly overboost. so i guess my problem is the wastgate.

It could also be your boost control solenoid. I've been having some problems with boost spiking, going up and down, up and down and it never did this with my mbc so it's not my wastegate. I've checked, rechecked, the checked my hoses again and they are fine and exactly as they came stock. I put my stock intake and bov back on and that didn't solve it either. So the only thing left for it to be is the boost control solenoid. I'm going to order a new one and see if that fixes it. You should also check your factory boost hoses and make sure there arn't any rips or tears in it.
