Hi, I have a 97 impreza outback wagon, when accelerating I get a nasty metallic tttttttiinnnggggrrrrrrbuzzzzzz, is this a heat shield or something, anybody else have this problem?

Also, when I brake sometimes I get a grinding noise, Any Ideas? It was just inspected (PA).

on the acceleration aspect, i'd check the the heat sheild.. where does the sound seem to be coming from?

sound sounds like front, cant tell where exactly, it only happens when driving, where is the heatshield located?

put your car up on ramps or get underneath it somehow and just follow the exhaust

above catylitic converter?

start from your headers and work your way back

yeah, i got those cheap $20 plastic ones and havn't had a problem.. just make sure you space them out right:D
