Are we ever going to see the availibility of a San Remo Red STi in the United States?

Gotta have the demand for it.

I think alot of people have been bitching about having a grey metallic, and they finally added it to the lineup of colors for the wrx and sti for 2005.

I would have liked to get the red instead of the blue.

I *LOVE* the Blue. So do other manufacturers apparantly it seems to be a pretty widely copied color now (Mazda, Mitsubishi, and Chevy/Ford trucks come to mind)

I personally love the red. Subaru needs a nice solid Ferrari red.

Oh don't get me wrong I like the blue it's bad as hell but I like the red better. It just looks more sporty.

I think SOA would like to add it to the lineup.

Well I'm not saying that Subaru invented Blue or anything, but you didn't see the widespread use of the "World Rally-ish Blue" before the WRX in my opinion.

LOL, when i think of blue, i think of chevy cavaliers. the state of Maryland used to buy only metallic blue ones.

Perhaps you weren't aware of Honda's electric blue...

Nothing like Arrest me RED on an STI, its not as if it isn't a bad enough cop mangnet excuse me Tax Collector with a gun magnet with that big ole wing, now you want it in arrest me red.

Our tax collectors with guns out collecting the road tax will think your not paying your fare share more often with the STI in red!

Yeah right?! What's the deal with charging more for the color red? My friend bought a Mustang a few years ago and had to pay extra to get a red car. Some insurance companies charge extra if you have a red sports car also.

you are more visible in a RED car than in a white one

San Remo Red was one of the four colors SOA asked us about. The others were yellow, orange, and dark gray. They have messed up yellow twice now and theyd do the same to orange. Red isnt selling well on WRXs. So it looks like gray will be the fifth color.

I heard of a red STi being added along with the Crystal Grey. Just a rumor. :cool:

its funny hearing this just because...why would subaru put out an STi introductory version in red? seriously, they made the absolute right choice to show off the rally blue first

I think red STi's would sell well. It doesn't look that good on a WRX, but if you show someone the Spec C Limited, they love the color. Maybe it's the gold wheels.

Update- Red was just a rumor and I just found it there will not be a red STi in '05.

Sure it is, especially when the police lobby local communities to set speed limits below engineering guidelines, and proposely setup environments where people are almost guarnteed to speed, like a limit change at the bottom of a hill ;-) Mainly to catch out of towners..

Why do you think many states like texas and ohio have passed laws that don't allow communities to collect more than 40% of their operating incoming from traffic fines? Because there were towns that generated pratically all of their income from traffic fines.

There are so many laws that govern traffic movent I don't think its possible to drive any more without breaking some law, whether its a complete stop at a stop sign, or having a liscense plate bracket. ITs just a matter if they want to collect the tax.

You tell me they aren't tax collectors with guns.


Personally though I like red cars, and think every sports car should be available in red for those who want to be noticed. I've owned a red car.

That red STi with the black wheels...wow that looked amazing.

Any pictures on the Metallic Silver WRX?

If by metallic you mean platinum silver, that's the same since the first '02 Rex. If you meant the new crystal grey, I've only seen the sampl in the ordering guide. It's a darker tone than the silver, almost leading in towards gun metal. Basically, it's just gray.

There is one guy that bought the STi interior (seats, doors, gauge cluster, e-brake) online and locally got a used STi wing and bought new sideskirts, scoop, and front lip. Painted everything red and locals not connected to Subarus, swear it's an STi.

I'll see if I can get a pic.

I gotta tell you car looks waaaay sportier and I bet they will sell just as much as any other color if not attract more buyers that love red cars.

Actually I think the '88 Conquest TSi was the first bright blue sports car. I had one and there wasn't another car anywhere near the color back then. I always got stopped and asked about it.

I would have bought a red STi with black wheels in a heartbeat.....

It would come with silver wheels.
