View Full Version : GT-Spec Gen. II (Rev. 1) Header & Up Pipe - PreJetHot Coated

Note new pricing for the month of March - based on the recent pricing of our large stocking order we are offering special pricing for the month of March.

Charged Performance's (http://www.chargedperformance.com) offerings on immediately ready to ship exhaust components already Jet-Hot 2000 coated for your convenience.

GT-Spec Gen. II header and up pipe combination fits 2002-2004 USDM WRX & 2004 USDM STi.

This second generation of the popular 4-into-1 collector design includes a 3-bolt flange for the collector to up pipe joint providing improved mating of the joint that is most subjected to exhaust leaks. The effectiveness and efficiency of this smooth flowing design into the 4-into-1 collector is enhanced by the velocity chamber design of the up pipe providing a smooth evacuating of the exhaust without the turbulence associated with a lip at the up pipe entrance, while tapering to the appropriate diameter for the stock and all popular turbo exhaust housings decreasing turbulence and improving exhaust velocity entering the turbine. Turbo spool up and efficiency is improved over other header designs, increasing the performance of any turbo the GT-Spec is connected to.

This is a total solution design - only the included up pipe can be joined to this header and the up pipe is NOT seperately available and the header will not match other up pipes.

To further improve the performance of this design we offer pre Jet-Hot 2000 coating complete and ready for delivery and installation. This coating protects to 2,450 degrees and have been a proven performance product in the most competitive and demanding of situations. We take this coating one step further by coating the inside and outside of the pipes.

By coating the inside exhaust heat is retained within the exhaust gas maintaining maximum velocity of the exhaust flow to the turbo. The piping is subjected to lower temperatures and less temperature cycling. Jet-Hot's process provides a smooth consistent coat inside even the complex piping of the header. Coating the inside of this shape costs more, but we have found that it increases the efficiency of exhaust heat retentison substantially while subjecting the materials to less stress.

The exterior coating decreases under hood temperatures to below those seen even with the stock heat shielding. The location of the OEM filter and oil cooler so close to the manifold / up pipe joint will expose it to undesirably high temperatures without shielding or heat suppression in that vicinity. The overall decrease in under hood temperatures decreases and slows heat soak and will improve the density of your induction charge - especially when using pod filters in the engine compartment.

Head to header and header to up pipe joint gaskets are included, however the extra bolt and nut for the three flange joint is not - use one of the four bolts and nuts from the crossover to manifold joints from the OEM exhaust when removed. Up pipe to turbo gasket is not included.

During the month of March order for $599.00 shipped to 48 continental US. (NJ sales tax extra)

During the month of March order uncoated stainless finish for $449.00 shipped to 48 continental US. (NJ sales tax extra)

I heard that with ceramic coating the inside the coating can flake off, thus entering the turbo and harming the turbine.

An improperly speced coating will on pre-turbo exhaust pieces due to temps. Jet-Hot 2000 is rated to over 2200* F and is not ceramic. Between the bonding of the material they use and the temperature rating it works great with no loss of coating material. This would be an issue for instance with Jet-Hot's original and sterling coatings - which they discourage anyone from using on pre-turbo exhaust pieces whether the interior or the exterior.
