I have 2 JDM V8 Forester Motors, waiting for a new home, available for $3500 + shipping. We need to move these motors to make room for the next shipment of motors and tranny's from Japan.

http://www.kastle1516.com/images/temp/engine_01.JPG

OK, nitty gritty stuff. This setup comes with:
EJ25 Forester Long Block w/AVCS Heads
Drive By Wire Throttle Body
Tumble Generator Valves
Fuel Rails & STI Yellow Top Injectors
Intake Manifold
Turbo Inlet
Turbo Oil Drain & Feed
Ignition Coils and Spark Plugs
Alternator & AC Compressor
Oil Pump & Pan
Headers

These are low mileage motors (only a few hundred km's) . The setup does not include intercooler, ECU, wiring harness, turbo, uppipe, downpipe, etc.

Shipping should run between $200 & $300 depending on location in the US. Excellent deal here, and supplies are limited.

One of our locals just did a conversion his WRX motor that was blown to one of these JDM V8 Forester motors, and was able to re-use his WRX intake manifold and throttlebody with no major problems since he didn't want to convert to DBW. Once he's finished breaking it in, we can't wait to see the power that his setup makes. :D

These are test units (basically)... Not necessarily bound for Japan...

What is the differece between the shortblock in there, and a STi shortblock? I have a STi shorty right now, but at that price with the heads/cams and all the other goodie I may just get one of them. That would also save me from all the work of pulling apart my WRX motor to swhich the blocks out. How much for shipping to 80503? Also how hard was it to use the WRX TB to rid it of the DBW?
ThankS

Shipping should be about $150 to you in CO.

The change over was simple as swapping the intake manifold. Since you are still using the WRX ECU, it doesn't need to be aware of the DBW. Technically speaking, you can just swap the throttlebody. I watched Robert from Forced Air Tech take the intake manifold off in 4 minutes. The whole damn thing.

From what I am starting to see, a lot more people are considering the forester swap now that they are realizing they don't have to deal with the DBW. The only problem will continue to be AVCS... I'm not sure anyone has found a work around for it, but I've read enough threads that talked about running it threw the TGV's + some wires.. Doesn't make much sense...

The differences in the internals, AFAIK, are the cams (durations) and pistons. I know there have been a ton of threads on the board that have talked about the differences.

Interesting...

BTW, when will my GC8 shirt arrive? :p

ThankS for the info, looks like I am going to stick with the shortblock I have now. Sounds like I may run into some problems with the AVCS if I don't have the right ecu. Do you have any V7 or V8 heads for sale, now or very soon? I am thinking about using a set of them, and I haven't seen any problems with their AVCS when swapped onto the STi shortblock
ThankS again

Should be arriving this week.

WickedRydaX -- It's not as much trouble as swapping a shortblock (installation wise) and using the WRX ECU with a ECUTek flash is what people are doing.

I don't have incomplete motors coming over anytime soon, but I'm always looking... :)

I will keep thinking about it, but I don't have the money right now, plus I have the shortblock already.

I assume these use std subaru turbochargers instead of the twinscroll. Also which oilpan does it use? Spec C or normal WRX?

They use the standard turbo setup on these engines. IIRC, it uses the WRX oil pan. I can double check in the AM.
