Does your Dash say what gear your in??

My has the Template for it but No lights on my FWD Impreza 1995 L

Nope, it's blacked out. They may have it over in Japan but you'd have to get a JDM gauge cluster.

The 02+'s do if I remember correctly as well as the JDMs.

it has the holes for the lights.. But no lights :-/

There was a gear indicator on 1993 and '94 AT models. I transplanted one into a '95 from a used '93 cluster. As you said the slot for the circuit board with the lights is there. The wires connect by the TCU, plus power, ground and illumination (for dimming) are taken from the cluster harness.

Hmmm I wonder why it's not on the 95 Model??

Ill just make an LED sequential shift light out of mine.

My MY'00 doesn't have it, the MY'01 does. It only has 4 gears, I can remember which one I'm in ;)
