Prodrive 17x7.5 GC-07 Wheel

and are the other weights quoted weights or your own measures?

The USDM Ver 8 STi Brembos?

For the GC wheels, there are three listings, 17x7.5, 18x7.5 and 18x8. It's the 18x8 with the +43 offset.

As for the P1, P7 or PFF-7, I'd have to check with Prodrive USA for you :) I'll do that as soon as I get into work. :) (Still at home in pajamas)

Just got off the phone with Dan at Prodrive. :)

These are the Prodrive wheels that will clear the USDM Ver. 8 STi Brembos:

P1 18x7.5 +46 offset
PFF-7 18x7.5 +51 offset
GC-06 18x8 +43 offset
GC-07 18x8 +43 offset
GC0-10 18x8 +43 offset

Oops, I forgot.. the PFF-7 does not come in a +48 offset, but the +51 offset will clear the STi Brembos. I hope I'm not repeating myself too much here. :)

I highly encourage consumers to do their research and be educated about the products they buy, what's available etc. It definitely makes my job a little easier :) (don't get me wrong, I'm always happy to answer any and all questions)

That list doesn't include the 18x7.5 P1 that clears the STi (available only in crystal titanium and rally gold) brakes. As for the GC wheels, only the 18x8 size will clear the STi brakes.

Hey Rob :)

Just a little update:
The old P7 wheel came with black center caps that say Prodrive in silver on them. They have their own separate center cap (the aftermarket ones like you asked for).
The new P7 shares the same center cap with the PFF-7 - a silver center cap with the "P" logo in black and torquoise.

Lemme know which wheel you have (old or new) and I can get you the right center cap for your wheels. :)

Newbie here looking to replace stock 2004 WRX wheels with either the Prodrive P1's (silver) or BBS RGR's (silver) 17x7.

Question...there's a bit of a price difference between the two. Why is that? Are the BBS wheels that much better (quality)???

Thanks for any info you can shed on this.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.. but the Prodrive P7's and P1's are cast, while the BBS RG-R 1-piece wheels are forged light weight alloy. The P1's in 17" weigh 19.75 lbs. and the BBS RG-R 1 piece weighs 16.5 lbs. :)

How about load ratings?

I am interested in anything that fits the 2004 USDM STI. We have heavy cars and I wonder why everyone overlooks this if they plan on hitting any bumps. I already know multiple people who have bent SSR's due to their 540KG load rating. I would like to get the lightest wheel that has the 740KG load rating.

Thanks very much,

No problem. I've bent a few rims on various cars in the past and the only ones that every held up to NYC potholes were stock BMW rims on the M3 I used to have.

Justin,

No news from Prodrive but a customer's car is in the shop and it has P1's and there's a 550KG load rating cast into the inner rim. I'm hoping the forged wheels are a little stronger, but I don't know anyone offhand who's bent a P1. They're heavy, but pretty strong.

I noticed you are offering free shipping on all your prodrive wheels. Since I live in the area and can stop by and pick them up, can I recieve a discount on the price instead? I am interested in the 17inch P1's in silver. Does prodrive make the PFF-7's in 17 inch also, or only 18inch?
thanks

I just spoke to Kym and she said that she contacted you and she's waiting for you to make a decision on the black old style caps. Unfortunately the Post Office lost the caps that we sent you originally and we've put in a claim with them.

If there's anything I can do, please feel free to contact me.

Thanks very much,

Justin,

Finally some load ratings. The forged GC series of wheels are rated at 690kg. I spoke with Prodrive yesterday about it and they said that they're rated conservatively.

Hope that helps,

can u post a pic of the Prodrive 18x7.5 PFF-7 Wheel

Also can you quote me on the PFF-7 and a decent summer or all season tire shipped to NY? Thanks!

Couple of questions...

How long will the shipping take for me to get the wheels (Seattle)?

The P1 18x7.5 will fit the 2005s right... with +46 offset?

What application would you be needing these for? An '05 WRX or '05 WRX STi? The bolt pattern is slightly different on the '05 STi, so I'll have to check and see what's available. Also, I'll check on shipping time.

ahh i was hoping you were gonna post a pic of the pff-7 18x8 in pewter that dieselclown, asked for. Hit me up with a pic of them so i can compare pewter and bright flitter please. Flitter looks nice but the brake dust is killin me and i think a darker rim might be better cause im lazy  . A quick question also, Looking at the same rims on another site, they are selling 18x8 in 48+ offset and you guys are selling 18x7.5 with 51+ offset which im guessing both clear the calipers, though i was assuming you sell both sizes, what are the price differences please if you could.

Thanks for the help

The PFF-7s for Subaru fitment only comes in 18x8, +51 offset, 5X100. The other ones you saw may have been for the Acura RSX or other cars that have the specs at +48 offset and 5x114.3.

I have the British Pewter on my White WRX - if you need pics, PM me and I'll link you to some. It's not too much darker than the Bright Flitter IMO.

As far as I know, the WRX is still 5x100 and only the '05 STi is 5x114.3. I'm assuming that you mean the OZ P1s that Prodrive sells. If so, what size are you interested in. If you do have an STi, they don't produce a P1 for the STi and it's doubtful that they will.

The entire GC series of wheels is now special order only, which unfortunately means that you have to pay in advance and also pay for airfreight from Japan and kind of makes it ridiculously expensive. Apparently Prodrive will be bringing out a new line of wheels shortly.

Aerosim Research Ltd
03-26-2005, 02:55 AM
I'm not sure what you mean about excuses about not delivering wheels. We have delivered wheels to everyone who has ordered them if they were wheels that we had in stock. If they are wheels that we do not keep in stock, then we told then what the wait would be and ordered them from Prodrive. Unfortunately, Prodrive has sporadic stock (especially since the re-organization) and there have been some huge delays. They're also in the process of redesigning the range of GC wheels, so we cannot provide those.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask. Give us a call at the shop. We're here from 2pm until at least midnight Mon-Sat.

Anyway, we're still doing free shipping on Prodrive wheels even though this is a really old thread.

Thanks,
