Okay electrical systems aren't my best subject so Im looking for some help. Im going to be doing some work on my car this weekend and I need to fix a problem with my license plate lights. They blew out so once I got pulled over for it, I went and got replacement bulbs(158 and then 168's). Well there still not working, so I need some tips on where to start. All other lights work and I don't have any blown fuses. Any help would be great, sorry if this is long and boring.

Has any work ever been done on the rear of your car, particularly removal of the rear bumper? There is a connector inside the trunk that goes to the license plate lights, it may be disconnected.

Nope, no work on the rear of the car but I will check for it anyway.
