ok, first my stock lights broke, the lens shatered, so i got some replica WRC's for $25. i got the wiring from Scooby Mods (http://www.scoobymods.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1779) . so, in the instructions, it says to put the pos to battery. ok, if I do this, the light will be on ALL the time. do i need to connect it to a wire that is on with the ignition? also, before i made the new wiring for the lights my fogs would not go on, so.... i put my stock lighs back in and the fogs work fine. also my hi beam light is on, on the dash all the time if my lights are on. i am doing one light at a time so i dont have to screw up twice. thanks and help ASAP.

can't you just tap the wires from your stock wiring?

well they are already gonig to the relays. also, from what I understand is that ther is no need to cut any factory harness. playing with it just now, i cannot get the relay to turn off once it has turned on. so the lights will not come on until I turn them on, but the will not turn off, even with the key taken out. sinec I do not know enough about how the relays go, I dont want to start "trying" things.

were you trying to use the first sec of instructions with 2 relays, or the second with three? It would help to know what exactly you've done.

The wire that goes to battery positive leads to a relay, so no, the lights won't be on all the time. The way the relay works is when the headlights are on, it's activated, transmitting the power directly to the lights from the battery. I'm not sure why the lights would just stay on, however.. more info would help.

im doing the first set with 2 relays. i understand how they work, and I got one hradlight done last night, go to get the second one. di dit exaclty the same and I have no lights at all. where is a good IGNITION ON i can go off of? if i go strait to the batery, there is always power there, so the lights will be on, i need to find a power source that is ignition on.

well, if your harness plugs into the stock headlight wires, I really don't understand what the problem is  If you follow the directions in that diagram, the low beams will be on with the headlights are on, or else when the ignition is on, depends if you disabled the DRLs or not - the power to switch the relay comes from the common 12, not the battery. and the high beams will be on when they're supposed to because the relay terminal 86 grounds to the subaru hi-beam switched ground.

sorry if you already know all this, but I can't figure what you're asking.. you shouldn't need to locate a different ignition 12V source underhood when you've already got a perfectly good one.

and.. so you did one light and it worked, but when you did the second one, now neither work? I really can't follow.

I the power i found blew the fuse. I got it fixed. I do not know where to get the common 12v source. that is my only problem. the actual wiring from relays and what not worked.

The wires that plug into the back of the 9007 stock headlamps - there are three wires per headlamp. The two outside wires are grounds, the center wire is 12V, it will come on with ignition if you have the DRLs intact, or else it will come on when you turn on the lights if you removed the DRL module. On the driver's side it's a Red/LightBlue wire, on the passenger side it's LightBlue/White. hth.
