stupid question but... do these hangers help dampen vibration? with all the stuff i have done my exhaust keeps kicking and banging around and i don't know if this will help or hinder it further :confused:

whoa.... just visited the kartboy site and it states that the red ones are discontinued... better grab these while u can everyone! they are now collectors' items :devil:

Silver Mojo - the red ones only come in the regular lenght (15 mm )

Benjamin Tang - Yes, kartboy did discontinue the red ones, and before he did we grabbed like 100 of them.

Just a quick question buy why would you need longer hangers?

I have sitting in my basement a complete TBE from txs with RFL muffler... which hangers would benifit me... I don't want that hitting up inside the car and I don't want it clanging the street...

NewShockerGuy - I had the RFL installed on my stock hangers, and I had to take the bumper to get it fixed because it burned the rear bumper. Go with the longer hangers

Quick question for ya, this might be asking much... but is it possible for you to take a picture of the two kartboy hangers or at least give the length on how long they are compared to each other and the stock hangers...
My biggest fear is it hitting the pavement... I wouldn't worry me that much but I have an STI suspension with eibach lower springs on the STI struts so that will lower my car more plus the fact that if I got the extended hangers..... I just picture hitting a bumb then hearing a loud screaching of metal...

Sorry if I am asking much, I just want to make sure that everything will be kosher (sp). :-)

center to center of the holes, the stock one's are 1 1/2 inches apart and the longer ones are 2 3/8th inches apart. so you are looking at 7/8th of an inch longer. i like them on my STi, and now i don't have to worry about a melted bumper like i had on my 03 WRX! :furious: I bought some off Strictly Driven just a couple days ago, and just installed them. Black-x have you noticed that the exhaust hangs TOO low... like I said above I am a little worried about hitting a bump then bam you can hear the exhaust clanging on the ground :-(

Forgot to ask are these a set of 4 or only two?

no. i don't think it hangs too low. i have the blitz nur spec-R on my STi, and i think it's gonna be just fine. i'm not worried at all about lowering my car with the longer hangers on (which i plan on doing soon!).

plus it really depends on what type of bump you are talking about. The lowest part on the exhaust is right inline with the rear wheels. so if you go over a speed bump, the exhaust is still the same height off the ground as if you were on a flat surface.

Thanks Luke for the smokingly fast service. I opted for the longer hangers, but I already have the Kartboy short hangers on the car now.

Getting a new muffler from the UK, that to my knowledge no one in the States is using and I don't want to smoke/burn the rear bumper.

Thanks for the pics! That's actually very helpfull! One last question for ya..hehehe What makes the exhaust not come off of the hangers... but looking at them now it just looks like the slide on in there, but what is to stop it from coming out.. are there bolts, or some type of fastner?

On a side note for the hangers can you even really notice a differnce when looking at an exhaust on the car with the longer kartboy hanger compared to their smaller ones?

NewShockerGuy - they come in a set of 4 to replace all the stock hangers. I will have more long hangers mid week as I am waiting for my order from Kartboy.You will notice a difference in a gap between the tip and the bumper.

NewShockerGuy -just different colors. The long exhaust hangers only come in black though. Colored ones are the regular length hangers.

AVANCE - depending on what distance you currently have between the muffler and your rear bumper. If you think it is close that it will burn or leave a carbon buildup, go with the longer ones. If not, go with the shorter ones.

I have been running with the stock hangers for at least six months now without any bumber probs. I just want the rattling to stop!! Any red ones left?
