WRX Jim 03-25-2004, 11:13 PM soooo tempting
what tempature?
importhookup 03-25-2004, 11:39 PM Hi WRX Jim,
They're 5000k Kits (recommended) however we do have other color temperatures available. We like to recommend the 5000k's for two reasons: 1) They have the most usable light output and is the industry standard, and 2) They emit a nice bright white color, no blue or purple stuff, which keeps you away as a target for the local police.

scoobydooby 04-14-2004, 09:46 PM I have a question about your HID kit in general, i live in canada where we have a daytime running light module that runs the lights at 7V during the day unless a switch is flipped to turn the lights up to 12V. If my lights are running at only 7V through through the module then will there be enough power for the initial light up? What about enough power to keep the bulbs running? have you sold any HID kits to canada and if so what did they do to solve this problem?
importhookup 04-14-2004, 10:05 PM Hi scooby,
We have the DRL modules down here as well. Basically what we've done here is pull the fuses - do a search on the HID installs here on the forum. Even if you did not pull the fuse, our ballasts have an auto shutdown feature which kicks on if voltage drops below 11v or rises above 15v.
And yes, we've sold numerous kits to Canada, none of which has experienced any problems with this issue.
Thanks!
scoobydooby 04-15-2004, 12:26 AM so by pulling the fuses i would lose my daytime running lights...
suby ej25 04-15-2004, 09:29 AM just paypal'd you......can't wait till they come in..thanks

Stock H1's use a blade type connector for the sockets, and yes, we do provide a wiring harness for a plug and play installation - no splicing is required.

Boostup! 05-21-2004, 09:40 AM How does your H4 hi/lo system work? There are two types in the market, I think.
1. Moves the entire bulb in or out to change it's focal point.
2. Moves a small reflector plate near the bulb.
Which system does Brightstar use?
importhookup 05-21-2004, 06:13 PM Leonardo,
Kit for your is $359 + $25(2nd day shipping).
$384 shipped.
Boostup!:
Our kits do not use the solenoid controllers as you described. Reasons for which are that manufacturers of the solenoid switches cannot match OEM spec, causing the unit to eventually fail.
We use a halogen bulb for the hi-beam. Yes, we understand that in terms of brightness - it is incomparable to the HID low beam; however, it is really designed for function checks. Plus your low beams are bright enough! All we need extended glare coming from a high beam HID in a halogen housing.
DieselClown 05-23-2004, 02:06 AM will the kit work for the 04 regular WRX without problems?
Leonardo 05-23-2004, 06:00 PM I'll be getting in contact with you soon for a kit!

Andy
importhookup 06-03-2004, 02:32 PM silverstreak,
The STI headlights use H1 bulbs, so the H1 kit would be right for you.
ADR,
yes, we do have 6500k D2S bulbs available for your STI if you have existing HID's.

importhookup 06-04-2004, 01:19 PM Diesel,
Well, i'm not sure what it means by emitting light incorrectly - but there is glare. It provides fine output in terms of visibility, but like they always say: This is for off-road use only.
We have several satisified 04' owners w/ these lights :)
DieselClown 06-05-2004, 04:02 PM thanks for the help! Im just curious cuz i've bveen hearing about people not happy with how they light the road on the 04's. I'd muych rather spend money to get a kit than to shell out 1200 to get a JDM HID kit obviously but wanted to make sure it wored well first.

Whats ur policy on blown/broken bulbs any warentee?
How much are new ones (h1)
AK_2002_WRX 06-08-2004, 05:02 AM i have a problem with mine, after 8 trouble free months...
my driverside HID doesnt work anymore... and i'm thinking that its the ballast and igniter....
i switched the lights around (plugged driver side into passenger side/ vice versa). and both bulbs are working fine...
and also, the Driver side headlight fuse keeps blowing when i change it...i'm thinking that the not working ballast is blowing the fuse...

All of our components are warrantied for one year, unless modified. Your warranty is also void if touched by your fingers (oil from your skin will cause it to burst) This also means no splicing or cutting of wires.
Other than that, we are more than welcome to warranty defective bulbs.
Replacements for existing customers is at a discounted price, which is disclosed at time of purchase. However retail price is $110/ea, $220/pair.
Thanks,
-John

WRX-1977 06-17-2004, 05:43 PM Are the relay kits still available, and if so, at what cost? Do the relay kits include an inline fuse for each balast assembly? I want to avoid using the factory wiring in my car, and figure the relay kit is cheap insurance against wirig problems down the line.

importhookup 06-17-2004, 06:11 PM Hey Justin,
Yes, relay harness may be purchased for an additional $35.00 along with your kit. And yes, it includes an inline fuse for each ballast.
We'll be out of the office all day tomorrow (6/17/04) for a Track Event. Best way to pay is via paypal@importhookup.com
Or you can call in on Monday.

Is the price the same for H7 kits? I stand corrected in the fact that the 2005 Legacy requires H7's and not H1's as I previously thought.
