Is anybody using one? I just want to know if it will work in a MY00.

There have been threads on this in the past, it can be made to work but you have to file it down as it's too thick for the GC.

I've seen it, but you have to shave the key to fit.

Alright, that sounds like something I can do, thank you for your help :)

Yes, I have an STi key in a MY00 RS. You do have to shave it down and they key will only work in the ignition, not the doors, trunk or glovebox.

Last time I cut an STi key for my GC it fit perfectly. No shaving, not cutting other than tracing the key (please note it will only fit the ignition). Go figure. I couldn't even get the first one in the ignition lock .

Why does it only fit the ignition?

It'll fit all the locks, it just takes a little more massaging (filing) to make it work.

Do you file some of the tip off, or do you shave off some of it off the side? I heard of both ways i think.

I think its off the sides, I also heard you can wear it down a bit with using it in your trunk for like 15 minutes, just keep opening it and that will help wear it down.

I had mine traced and it works in every cylinder except the trunk without shaving or filing it.

Mine works fine everywhere but the trunk. No filing or anything...it all just depends on how worn your locks are. :D

I only ever use it in the ignition, though thanks to RKE.

Got my STi blank cut today and the guy said it won't work because the ridge (for the lack of a better word) is too think between the two cuts in the black.

Low and behold...it is. :(

What have others done to fix this???

Nothing- it just worked. I tried one of the other blanks I cut that didn't work before this past weekend, and it does now. I can't explain it :).

Perhaps the lock sets on the RS's are a bit different than the OBS ones...

I need to get some jewler's files and see if I can make it work.

I got mine today and it works!!! :D

Just take it to a Subaru dealer, they will say no it wont work because your key is an SR5 key and the STi key is a SR8. Say just stick it in your machine and do it, trust me it will work. They will argue with you a little more but he will eventually do it. When you get it the key will barely fit, stick it in and out a bunch of times to wear it down and it will work fine.

After using mine for a couple of months it fits the driver door, ignition, trunk but still not the passenger door. Just keep using it and have the original handy till the STI key works.

Yeah, it goes like half way into my trunk now, I just have to keep working it ;)
