I am getting 17" falken azenis sport for my daily driver in the summer. is it an overkill? I heard of so many good thing about it,
and I know some ppl use them as daily driver.

I commute around 70mi a day, mainly highway. how long will it last?
i plan to do 1 or 2 autox this summer and don't want to change tire.

what do u think?

Do eeet. They are affordable enough that it's okay to wear them out, although I have a set (stock size) that's been on my car for many months without rapid wear.

The only reason I can see to not keep a set on all Summer is if you are an absolute noise freak. They make more noise than many tires out there, but it is not unbearable, and the stereo still sounds fine.

I was considering doing this on my stock wheels as well, originally just for autox and buy a set of rotas and some FK-451's for street. But i may just do the Azenis only.

i have dunlop M2 (snow tire) on the stock now, and they are already very loud, so I think I am used to the noise already.
they are still $500 for 17" mounted and balanced. I hope they will last 2 season, 3 would be best!!

My own personal bias on this is to not try to get more than two AX seasons out of Azenis (or maybe even just one) and the rest of the tread left up to highway fun. There are reports (in the Motorsports Forum) of Azenis hardening over a year plus (although nothing like the heat-cycle beating real race tires would take, and not everyone has experienced degrdation over time), so that if you were seriously autoxing, you'd probably want new ones just to make sure.

I am just going to do 1 or 2 autox event per season, but if it harden overtime, then maybe I should do more autox, because I have to change them anyway after 2 season!!! :D :D

they're good tires, just be prepared for the stiff sidewall and they become scary in the rain when they wear down.
