Well, I had installed tints last friday at a highly recomended tint shop. I did not notice then cause my car was dirty, but when I washed it the next day their was little light scratches (not deep, just the stup*d crappy clear coat) around the rear pillars. I did not get how those scratches got there, its like if a little citty went to town on my car. Then I remember the lady at the shop telling me the process of how they install the tint, and one of them was that they lay the tint on the glass outside of the car (BINGO) and mold it. So my conclusion is that they are responsible for it. Should I try to remove it myself with some scratch remover or take it to them and have them deal with it? Thanks for the help guys.

recommend u go to them and find out exactly where they did the job, then if it looks like it could have been them go for it, but becarefull that they don't just "melt" the paint over it like u could do up to you realy if it really is tiny do it urself don't waste the time!

Melt the paint over it??

Anyways... Ill tell you what probrobly happened. Im a tinter
and have seen guys do this to cars. Sometimes when theyre tinting that back window and they are shaping it (heating it) to the shape of the window, the cord from the heat gun can rub on the paint a little up on the pillar like you mentioned when theyre reaching to get to the center of the rear glass. The fact your car was dirty couldve made it worse. Which is why I recommend people dont bring their car to me dirty, and try to have it washed before hand.

All itll take is probrobly a little cleaner wax and some good wax over that and you shouldnt see it anymore. If its really bad.. maybe a lil compond done by a pro. But its not like the scratches are down to the metal.
