Well... Today was a great day, so I decided to pamper the OBS - wash, wax, and detailing. When I was washing the passenger side, I noticed there was a scratch on the gas door! So, I'm like "what the..." I look closer at the scratch and realize it goes down the entire length of the car! Damnit! It's pretty noticable in anything except direct sunlight ...

First off, who would key a two-tone Subaru station wagon?? Second, it's not like I have any "enemies." Hell, I think the only thing people might not like about me is that I don't talk a lot.

Anyways, I'm just wondering what I should do... Is it worth reporting to the police? My insurance company? Never had this crap happen before but it's frustrating... My car keeps getting screwed by other people - first some SUV takes off my driver-side mirror, then I get a door ding in each driver-side door, then my passenger-rear door is scrapped hardcore :furious:. This city sucks!

Thanks for any help

I've had my old car keyed while I was at a movie. If you cannot buff out the keymark and you want to fix it you'd have to report it to your insurance company. For me my deductible was $500 which was much cheaper than what it cost to repaint essentially bith sides of my car. So check with your provider to see.

My deductible is also $500... Do you think my entire car would have to be repainted? It will not buff out and it is much more extreme on the doors than anywhere else... I can't believe they'd scratch the "flared" part of my OBS :(

Thanks for the info - anyone else have advice?

My entire car was keyed. But most of it buffed out. The driver side did not though. from the front fender to the back fender, and dors included. repair cost- 1g. and it is very noticable.
